Very nice rounds, and I love your humbleness, you are not afraid to show your mistakes and admit what you need to work on. Also loved those savate kicks, outside crescent kicks are very underrated, I find them awesome. They give extra angles of attack that people usually don't expect!

I notice the same thing when we do combo drills on our partner where they either don't even come close to hitting the face or they just aim for the gloves like its pad feeding. I usually just put my gloves down and tell them to hit me in the face lol. 1 little critique I would have with just the video, would be to bump up the decibel level of you speaking during the breakdown so it matches the audio levels of the louder parts of the video. Great video though.

Thanks for sharing the work. Malik has potential to be really good. Good hands, balance and quick twitch muscle. Slick round kicks. Too. You can see your experience start to show up later. Your Inside leg kicks between Malik’s side steps was done with good timing, definitely off balanced his foundation a few times. Also the high slant kick and no look check hooks had some effect on Malik. You already mentioned what you didn’t do, so no need to go there.

I think you guys are doing great I think Malik was doing really really good with all the extra movements he was doing the gas himself out to get that extra cardio during his sparring and hopefully in an actual fight he won't do a lot of the excess movements and just go in there knock the guy out and move out and you doing pretty good too you were parrying you were coaching him moving around even though the cardio is hard and I get it I'm the same way I need to work on my cardio my kicks are not the same as they used to be when I was younger I have to train more as well and hopefully my kicking will get better cuz I used to take a lot of pride in my it wasn't Taekwondo type of fancy but it still van damage type of Kicking and I was very very proud and my cardio was okay but now it's not so I have to work on it as well it's not easy but just keep practicing and you'll get there as far

Greetings from Finland! Always love the excitement and true martial arts spirit you have. I just thought to throw you a weird ask: disabled people in martial arts? I myself have a CP that limits my life, yet recently after 13 years of hard training I reached the 1st dan in ITF Taekwon-Do. Now I "know" the basics and the true training can begin. I have also dabbled in JKD for few years and am Especially loving the kali-escrima. Have a wonderful day!

I used to compete in powerlifting, rugby, and MMA (Not all at once, lol), but developed rheumatoid arthritis. I still train and do martial arts, but definitely have to take it slower than I used to in terms of intensity and training volume. In my opinion, its almost more important for people with disabilities to train in whatever brings them joy, because its thanks to my training that I've been able to maintain strength and health despite being undiagnosed for around four years. On top of that, if I end up in a self defense scenario on a day where my joints are swollen up like balloons I better be damned good and know what I'm doing if I don't want to eat shit.

@@metrolinamartialarts Hey man keep at it I say. At 0:14 you coulda landed that right hand straight down the pipe just like Mayweather does while in that stance. Speaking of which, after analyzing this session further you coulda landed that right quite a few times actually, esp considering the opponent had a habit of keeping his lead hand low.

that guy looked super fast, i have to imagine real life he is even faster; when i spar people sometimes i leave a hand out to gauge speed and timing, secondly i find guys will actually punch into ur hand or guard instead of working around it to get to u.. do u find that to be the case when u spar.

@@metrolinamartialarts the reason i think boxing transforms fighters is because you master basics. Think Bruce Lees saying of mastering one technique over a thousand. If you only allow your self to do straight punches in all your practice and sparring for a month, you will find how much there is to learn there. Mastering different combos of feetwork, types of power, angles and timings.
@leftphilange692 жыл бұрын
After first round the two things I notice is he’s not going for the targets you’re giving him (consciously or unconsciously) - it’s like he’s just throwing random sloppy shots to miss on purpose. No real timing or set ups - more reactive and reliant on his natural athleticism. Second, he’s not cutting any good angles or taking initiative. I’ll play the next rounds now and see if I was in line with your thinking. Edit: word, good coaching man. I’d rather see a cautious and tentative sparrer than the opposite, but there is a time to escalate safely and effectively. You did well at doing so in a controlled environment.
