I think for the Dodgers to shutout the Padres and score 8 in an elimination game @ a hostile ballpark like Petco was big for their confidence. I think it rid themselves of a lot of demons. They have faced all their nightmares and still pushed to a 5th game. They are going back to LA with more confidence than they have had inna long time. I agree it doesn’t affect the Padres except that they are now facing a team that knows they can win it all. Padres will be hungry to get on board first so Darvish can do what Darvish does. Let's go Yankees. And hopefully give MLB the World Series everyone wants to see, even if they can't bring themselves to admit it. Ohtani, Betts, and Freeman vs Judge, Soto, and Cole. Star power was everywhere while MLB's biggest World Series rivalry rekindled. Beating the Royals brings back late 70s and early 80s vibes. Had the Dodgers played and beaten up the Phillies it would have mirrored 1977-78 exactly.
@veritasinvicta81283 ай бұрын
If not for the bye, I believe all of the favored teams would have performed better. The Yankees would have swept, the Dodgers would have swept or won in 4 (the Padres are better than the Royals), Philly may have lost but not so pathetically, and Cleveland probably wouldn't be on the brink. There's no shame in losing to Skubal, but what about game 3? The long layoffs hurt the bye teams. They should move up the DS to Friday, if not Thursday, depending on whether both series in a league are swept. If one goes to three games, then make it Friday. If not, then Thursday. Five days off is simply too much.

They have a great 1-4 in the rotation and some great bullpen arms but their offense is way top heavy and lacks consistency. I've been writing my perspective on videos across the jomboy media comment spaces. I kind of feel obliged to write one here. As a long-time Padres fan, I'm feeling somber. It's rough to see a team take that bad of a beating, and knowing that your team historically has the most losses of the MLB since their first year in 1969, it's really hard to face the fact that our season might be over on Friday, and we may not know if we'll be back to try again in a year or 10. I recently saw a Phillies fan talk about the heartbreak of not seeing a World Series since they were 12. Consistently here the Dodger's complaints of their team even though they're having the best 15 year stretch of their whole franchise history. Even the Angels having a World Series title in this millenia and having their postseason woes in that same time. And all of that is not to say that they have no reason to complain, every fanbase was raised differently than others for many different factors. But what I can say is this. I was 2 when the Padres went to the NLCS in '98. I was graduating high school when after a historic offseason, the Padres were still mediocre as ever. 2022 was a whirlwind for a guy who hadn't witnessed a playoff berth since I was 10. This short stint of winning these past 4 years has Padre fans wired. I remember having so much nerves when we had first place for the first time in YEARS. And with the amount of dialing down the organization did after Peter died, it feels insane that we're at this doorstep again. But if they lose, and the Padres regress to where we've been for years before? Well, Padre fans will still go to games, everyone enjoyed the games at Petco even without the winning (I, myself, still had a decent time after witnessing the carnage of Opening Day 2016). And every year, Padre fans will still have hope. They may not sellout, but they will still be loud. And they will still love this team deeply Jon Bois said something about the Mariners, how if all you care about is winning and losing, you will never understand this team. The same goes for the Padres. Winning or losing was never high on the priority list of a Padres fan. All you had to do was just love this beautiful city of San Diego, and boom, you get it. I really don't know how to end this. I'm hoping this isn't the end of the run. I just want a good ass game P.S. those nerves Jolly said he didn't want to have, well I'm glad he isn't having them but WHY ME? Friday can't come soon enough, just break my heart or make me happy already! P.S.S writing all of this out has made me feel considerably better. Journaling works. Anyways, back to actual work
