I appreciate that you raised the truck on 'jack stands' as many of us DIYers have in our garages. I would love to have a garage tall enough, with a lift capacity to raise up my vehicle, but the reality is jack stands are the highest I'm going to get.

I could do that in the future. Have about 5,000 miles on them and they are still great. The truck doesn’t get a ton of miles/year so an annual follow up video wouldn’t be the best long term usage video.

I bought a 2014 FX4 Tremor in 2021 that was lowered. I lifted it about a year later in 2022. I used the TTX LCA and the SPC adjustable UCA with the Rough Country 6" lift kit . I think the ball joints on the LCAs and the bushings on the UCAs went bad. I have a hella squeak on ups and downs on both sides and there is definitely a klunk when turning hard or if there is a weight shift back and forth (during parking and what not) I'm tempted to go back to OE for the LCA cause it's OE but I do like being able to replace the ball joint. SPC has replaceable bushings for their UCAs but that's such a PITA lol

I own a ‘05 F350 SRW CC and know all too well how much repairs/maintenance can cost if a shop does it. I just purchased these for my 02 7.3 Excursion. 3 of the 4 were so stiff out of the box that I can't move except a mm or two. The 4th is tight but I can move it all around it's axis. How tight should these be just to move by hand out of the box? Do I have 1 faulty new ball joint or 3?
@InTheShop3 жыл бұрын
They are very stiff when new. Without feeling the 4th one myself it’s hard to say but it is possible it’s defective.

I just purchased these ball joints for my 04 4x4 F250! I believe on the 4x4’s you can’t leave the the upper ball joint grease fitting installed. Do you by any chance know if this is true?
@InTheShop3 жыл бұрын
I’m not 100% positive on that. Some I have been able to keep them and some I have not. You can install them then once it’s assembled rotate the axle to see if it will clear. If it doesn’t clear you can remove the grease fitting with a wrench and install the cap.
@Itsa_Mea3 жыл бұрын
David, that is true on the earlier trucks 2004 down. In 2005 the knuckle is larger allowing the grease fitting to clear the axle ujoint. So your 2004 you would grease it and then install the plug.

Press tool no longer included. Bought a pair of new TTX Ball Joints that are press in exactly as shown here. Also the preload was way off on the ball joint from India. The Indiana Joint also didn't even come with a zerk fitting snap ring or even a new Castle nut. Very disappointing

@InTheShop Well I Ordered an entire new front end for a 2011 charger. So id be potentially looking at some parts from when the line was first launched to made recently Im really impressed with the quality overall 👌 The Upper arm from China's ball joint took all my weight 190lbs ez and it moved 1mm Certainly 1 tone truck strong Ball joint. It was the lower ball joints that I mentioned. 1.being from india And and the tie rods were from china and damn their truck strong to! Time will tell but it appears that the line lf parts is superior to Moog Problem solver. At least out of the box. Like everything with a shit economy. Some outsourcing has been done. This has certainly opened my eyes to Chinese parts not always being the knock offs.
