Actually most people don't. Most people say what they think will make them sound good, or what won't offend others. But if m2k says he is #3 this year, its not because he's shit talking others or he just has this big ego to satisfy, nor is it because he has this low self esteem and so he lowballs himself so that he can't be disappointed with results, its purely because he really thinks that he performed to the #3 spot.

@@GabiN64 he doesnt beat around the bush much or pussyfoot around saying certain things because he doesnt care to do that, or rather it just isnt in his nature. A lot of people, when you ask them about how well they think they've done something or how well they are doing something, will tend to be biased a bit toward themselves (sometimes intentionally, other times not). The opposite also happens, where a person will downplay their abilities or accomplishments to maintain a publicly humble personality or to not make someone else feel bad. M2K seems to speak about his experiences as objectively as he possibly can, or at least that's what it seems like he does. It isnt so much that he says what's on his mind (that is still part of it though), it's that he speaks truths, ie says things that other people are thinking but not saying

At top level that's really what it comes down to. All the gods can beat each other, even other top players like Leffen, SFAT, Plup, etc. can. It just comes down to who's better that day. If you watch top players give analysis after matches most say "oh he wasn't playing his best" or "I played bad and he played good." You can't play melee at %100 all the time, that's why there's an unlimited ceiling. Always room to improve. M2K is already at the top of the top. Anyone at that level he can beat and voce versa. It just depends who is playing better that day. It's not a hard concept to understand.

Egg vggc He means M2K is the best team player, not necessarily the best team. Mainly because he’s been successful teaming with so many different people (He’s good with all four other gods, Plup, Leffen, and even lower level players like Ice). He’s also an amazing team player in Brawl AND Smash 4. Also, Ken/Isai were definitely the best at their time, but I’d say the GOAT team is Armada/M2K, and the best currently is Armada/Android for sure.

Anthony Castro He could've done better in other majors and supermajors throughout the year. He's always stopped by either Armada or Hbox, and goes pretty even vs Mango. Furthermore, he's doing better vs non-gods this year than in 2015, which could show that he's evolving for the best. I can't wait to watch him win TBH6!

This is because among the top 6, the one against whom M2K struggles the less is Leffen... Whereas Leffen is pretty solid vs Hbox and Armada, who are M2K's kryptonite. Leffen could be a whole different beast now, especially with his showing at GOML where he defeated everyone. With very little of leffen's skill being displayed (vs America) the past year, at most what you're saying is just minor speculation.
