Tijuana, Mexico, is a limbo for deportees from the United States. People keep showing up in the city while U.S. immigration policies get tougher. Between 2002 and 2012, deportations to Mexico more than doubled, from 122,058 to 306,870, according to the Department of Homeland Security. Many were deported for non-violent or relatively minor infractions.
In many cases, these deportees are returned to a country where they might have been born but know little about as adults. They might speak little or no Spanish, and are further seen as pariahs for sporting gang tattoos. Opportunities for work in Tijuana remain limited for such deportees, except in a sector that is enjoying a boom period in Mexico, telemarketing.
Call centers offer English-speaking deportees a chance to have a steady income in jobs-strapped Mexico. They also get to put their language skills to use. Telemarketers gain a geographically close work-force of English native-speakers, but at Mexican labor costs. VICE News traveled to Tijuana to meet a few of the thousands of deportees who were raised in the United States and are now forming new lives back in Mexico, thanks to their steady jobs at a U.S. call center.

In my opinion teloro is the worst call center in Tijuana...i use to work there trying to sell solar panels...they should have done this on CCSI call center its the best call center in tijuana bases pay is 3000 pesos a week plus monthly performance bonus paid in dollars and great government benefits to.yes tijuana is not the best city but if u really want to do good u can live a great live...im to deport but lives great out here not that stress fast paste like in los Angeles ca.im big chilling with a 40oz west up

Once we have no use for him then yes, we will deport. Just a black man all pissed because y'all are second rare citizens. Y'all hate brown so quit trying to stick up for him. You know this video really caught my attention I was deported to Guatemala in 2011. I been here ever since and have been working in call center for almost 8 years now. There's about 30 call centers, won't mention any names, but honestly the call centers have saved our lives and kept us with a stable. Unfortunately, the friends that I had in the past some have past away or been killed in this city. I don't have any intentions of going back to the USA. I have a stable job and plus have a car part business on the side. Just wish my friends wouldn't have gotten killed pretty messes up. Guatemala is a whole different country and wish you seened what I witnessed while living out here. Blessings to our neighbors (Mexico). Same situation, different country. Blessings!

I can agree to see why most of these deportees can be "deserved" to be deported. But deport a vet ? No way man. After living in the U.S. for 50 years, I was deported. At times life has been difficult because at my age not much is expected. But the most difficult part of this is that those family members who are American citizens have forgotten me or turned their back on me completely. Take it as you want Sr. Martinez but you are one of the few that still believes that life can be good in Mexico all thanks to the almighty American dollar. Still I'm happy that at least one Mexican can admit his error and remain in his rightful place. Best of luck to you and your family.

Paisan I was a child taken to the U.S. by my parents at a very early age, I didnt have a choice in the matter. I was then soon involved in gangs which took me to prison (which is something that has no respect of persons legal or illegal) and eventually got me deported. The "if I would've's" in life do not matter any more, I'm just glad I didnt die in the streets of Los Angeles and that I got a second chance in life. I actually feel safer here in Mexico than I did in the United states, I'm just here to encourage others that can relate to my story that the U.S. is not the only place where dreams can come true, neither is the dollar the "almighty" as you call it. why? because there are people that are filthy rich, yet they are as unhappy as they can be... America is a great country, but believe me, there are people here in Mexico that are also very rich, and it doesnt buy them happiness. I do appreciate your good wishes.

Life can be tough aye? As a senior citizen I can fill all of youtube regards my miss treatment injustice too. But guess what folks, learn to play or be prepared to pay. Just because a person is or has been in a military service does not guarantee a special ride through life. BULLSHIT they are deported over a ticket! Todays communities do NOT have funding to tie up limited police officers, limited admin to process immigration holds. If they do, its usually involving felonies. Think Budget people. There is a process for entering the country period. I would like to see video on what are the people of Mexico doing to make their own country a wonderful place to be. I am tired of assuming all of the displaced people's burdens to America. This is exactly why American voters voted in Trump. Every Nation has laws regarding obtaining citizenship. Why should America be any different?
