Sir, you are the only person I know (physically or virtually) that truly won't ever regret nothing when the time comes to pass away (I believe at least 90 years from now). Believe me, many people in the world just exist, but they don't live. And you Mark, have a life that thousands or even millions of viewers here on KZbin would be willing to live, including myself. Cheers and keep rolling across the globe in this quest of the most delicious dishes in the world! Peace from Mexico

I think Sopa de Lima is big all over the Yucatan. I remember having that in Cozumel almost every night back in the 1960s when I was little and there were less than half a dozen water front hotels there. They were just beginning to build the hotels on Cancun. We chartered a boat with a diver who took us out for the day; dove for the fish for our lunch which was prepared and cooked on a little island with nothing but a barbecue pit and a grass roofed shelter and a few picnic tables. We had cooked fish and lobster and of course fresh fresh Ceviche which Conch that the diver found. Then we explored the little island before taking the boat back to Cozumel and we went by Cancun on the way back and saw the cranes working on building what became the first hotels there. I will never forget that day. We also visited Merida on that trip but I only remember walking around the city there.

I love that Mexico is super diverse. The downside is that I haven't tasted many different types just what I grew up. We need more Mexican restaurants that make actual food they make in different parts of Mexico.
