Rachel I found an easy way to remove the floating protein is to use a small handheld strainer. I sure do wish I was your best friend and neighbor 😊 I would bring the dessert

@@lorschild It’s called Cazuelas. They come in all shapes and sizes. Found at any Mexican grocery store or at Flea Markets. Here in Dallas a good size like hers will run you about $60. - $70. Dollars. But you Must cure it before you use it! After you cure it you can use it on a stove top like hers or on an open fire. That’s why you cure it first, so that it doesn’t crack on you when you put it on an open flame. 🔥 KZbin has many ways to cure your Cazuelas. Rachel has a video on how to too. They are well worth the price and will last you forever if you take good care of them. Hope all of this information helps you. Enjoy. 😊🌸

This reminds me a lot of a soup (minus the Mexican seasonings) that my mother made often when we were growing up in the Midwest, and one that is still one of my grown children’s favorites. Meat, cabbage, all kinds of vegetables and hers was heavy on tomatoes that my dad had grown in the garden and canned. She made a huge pot and we ate it for days! De-licious as you would say! She called it Mulligan Stew and your video has given me a hankering for it! Love your new patio and outdoor kitchen. Growing up in south-central Texas, caldo de res was a staple in our home. Mama made it just the way you do! This brings back so many memories of cold winter evenings with everyone coming in from the cold and gathering at the kitchen table with a big pot of caldo that mama made from scratch.
