Fentanyl is fifty times stronger than heroin. A single pill can be lethal. The illicit trade of fentanyl has triggered a new health crisis in the United States, overwhelming emergency services with a surge of overdoses, often among the young. The synthetic opioids are from Mexico, where they've disrupted the drugs market. There is no need to cultivate poppies or rely on rural communities for opium production. Fentanyl, disguised as harmless-looking pills, is easy, inconspicuous, and simple to produce and transport. The devastating effects of this substance are gradually spreading throughout the American continent.

I have been clean for over 4 years now from this terrible drug! I lost my best friend and probably knew at least 20 people I actively used with all the time who died from this drug! Getting off of it is the hardest thing anyone can do! I don’t ever want to go back to that miserable existence of life!

It's a cheap way to commit genocide on a country and its endless waves of sheeple being prepped for the slaughter. This is a clean efficient way to put to sleep its users, especially the downtrodden and lost souls. If the Nazi's were civilized they would of gave this stuff to their much hated Jews and other undesireables. This drug kills more people then the Vietnam war did, No bombs needed.

How can somebody familiar with coke, confuse it with something else. I lived in Miami for 6 years, and had a plug selling really good quality white, for reasonable prices. It had a texture very close to fish scales, but the bitter smell gave it right away. I was in college then, but thankfully, I never was a person with addictive tendencies. My consumption was limited, although it was quality stuff. I could see consumption of coke quite regularly among college kids at an alarming rate, but wtf could I do. What you do is your business. Adderall and oxys were also used regulary. During mid-terms and finals, it was fetched like a dog begging for treats. Even people who were legally prescribed the medication, people offered to pay good money for like ten to "get them through exams." I would walk into a bathroom stall and see the tiny pearls on the TP rack. Even for a renowned university. Undergrads went mad for all kinds of narcotics. Most had the money to support their habit. Now, is more worrying that cartels were adding fentanyl to their cocaine. In my opinion, they would loose thousands for every overdose, fatal or not. There should really be shops selling clean dope. Even active and war veterans have fallen pray for drugs laced with other adulterants. I served in the middle east, soldiers would use hashish and heroin when they could, but we were monitored quite tightly. I didn't see much combat myself, but I tell you, I would not want someone watching my back high as a fucking kite. The war on drugs is a lost cause, billions of dollars spent in vain. It really is fucking aggravating.

I wish you all the best. Stay strong and keep faith in in your own capabilities. Edit: Antony J. Blinken US Secretary of State put some light on the issue just yesterday IN A CONVERSATION WITH COUNCIL ON FOREIGN RELATIONS PRESIDENT RICHARD HAASS👇 MR HAASS: Where the two sides agreed to explore the creation of a working group. (Laughter.) Love that. Love that. So there was that. And then I saw that China basically - however you say “not now” or “take a hike” in Mandarin, on establishing mil-mil crisis communications. So my question is on those two issues, am I misreading it? And then on other issues - for example, China’s willingness to participate in the next round of nuclear arms control talks. The last time I raised it with a senior Chinese official he basically said, “No way, we’ve got to build up our nuclear arms. We’re not interested.” Do you get the sense that when China is looking at all these issues - where did you come away with optimism? Was it any of these issues? Was it possibly Ukraine? Is there any area where, again, you see some potential upside in China’s diplomatic openness? SECRETARY BLINKEN: Well, first, just taking the issues that you’ve mentioned, let’s start with fentanyl. And there’s a good reason to start with fentanyl. And in a sense, it’s really worth pausing on this for a second because, as I suspect most people know in this room, the number one killer - the number one killer of Americans aged 18 to 49 is fentanyl. So if you start from that premise, it makes sense that you’d want to be focusing a lot of your time and resources and effort on that. And we are. And indeed, as I mentioned, in just a couple weeks’ time we’ll be moving forward with a broader international coalition to deal with this. And it’s a problem and a challenge that we’ve been facing for some time. We’re doing it holistically, by which I mean there’s a lot that has to go on in the United States, including reducing demand, dealing with treatment, at the same time major law enforcement challenges. We have our border and making sure to the best of our ability that synthetic opioids can’t get over the border with impunity. There’s a lot of technology that goes into that. Working with Mexico, where the synthetic opioids are created. But there’s of course, as everyone knows, a China dimension to this problem, because the precursors that go into the fabrication of fentanyl are right now primarily made in China, and they are then diverted - sometimes knowingly, sometimes not knowingly - to criminal enterprises that turn them into fentanyl close to our border and then send them into our country. So it’s profoundly in our interest to see if we can get cooperation from China to deal with this problem. We’ve had some successes in the past, including their decision a few years ago to stop the exportation of fentanyl itself. But the chemical precursors are where the problem is now. There’s a lot that goes into this in terms of trying to elicit that cooperation even as we are taking action against any institute, institution, company, individuals we find that are engaged in this illicit trade. I believe, based on the sentence that you read, that we’re actually getting to a place where we might actually get practical cooperation from China. And this is not as a favor to us. This is because what we’re seeing around the world is a demand signal, because fentanyl is now hitting many more countries - we’ve been the canary in the coal mine. Our market is actually saturated. The criminal enterprises engaged in synthetic opioids are now trying to make markets in other places, including in Europe, including in Asia. And so more and more countries are now raising their voice and saying we need action on this; we need cooperation on this. I don’t think China is going to be immune to that. So I have some modest hope that we can find a way to elicit their cooperation.👇 china.usembassy-china.org.cn/secretary-antony-j-blinken-in-a-conversation-with-council-on-foreign-relations-president-richard-haass/

Yeah when they needed the villagers as farmers but I think the documentary makes it pretty clear once the cartel no longer needed to buy crops of organically grown drugs from the villagers they pretty much cleared out. So you are just as fooled as that lady is into thinking cartels “take care” of the community out of the kindness of their hearts. They are just like any other massive capitalist corporation it all comes down to profit.

This is so sad. Mexico is rich in natural resources and the people are stuck in poverty. Originally from Houston, Mom and her friend would like to shop in Juarez back in the 70's when I was 14. A small boy maybe 5-6 years old was selling paper flowers. He was barefoot and dirty. Just so poor. His eyes were blank, literally like he had no hope. They also had a glaze to them. I bought every single paper flower he had and cried the rest of the day there. That poor child had nothing to look forward to. I'll never forget that child. I've prayed for him over the years. I went to Cancun when I was 27 and it was Heaven on earth. I would never go back again though now. Now that many states in America have legalized marijuana (thank God) the cartels don't even worry about weed, straight to meth, heroin, more coke, and fentanyl. It's killing our country. I don't know what the answer is but they're government has always been corrupt and the cartels have the power. They are ruthless people, I don't care who they "help", they would just as soon slit that person's throat for no reason other than to instill fear. America needs to put pressure on China and South American governments. It does seem like the feds are making a lot of seizures and catching some cartel members but there's always someone else to take their places. Anything for a buck. It's heartbreaking.

Tourists wanted to "party" in Cancun so they brought cocaine there and now the cartels are in charge. America needs to put pressure on the healthcare system to stop giving people so many drugs. America needs to study why people need drugs so badly that they work all day to pay for coke (I've seen it myself).

Just so you know. Your current American leaders are corrupt. Leave border wide open. Taking money from cartels. People are so blind and want to accuse Mexico For this problem. Why is it dad, American politicians? Nothing about the Border? And let drugs flow over that border and When you get caught with a it you go to prison. Not the people making and distributing it.

To end cartels and drugs in North America we need to find the roots of the problem: the doctors who prescribe powerful "legal" drugs to people and make them addicted. We need to ask why people are in such despair that they need drugs to live or they feel so entitled to a "good time" that they see partying and taking drugs as a right.

@@alana8088His beliefs are backed by empirical data. Purdue pharmaceuticals pushed the narrative that Opioids weren’t addictive substances, paid Doctors across the United States to recommend and prescribe these drugs as a solution to pain. Now, with opioids heavily regulated the people addicted to them turn towards a more deadly drug, Fentanyl! My beliefs are that a logical solution would be to tackle the drug problem by opening rehabilitation centers and putting forward a plan of acceptance regarding the use of drugs, addiction is extremely common and making it illegal it leads to these type of markets from opening up.
