You have to apply at your local consulate for whichever residency you want then you travel to Mexico for your "canje" and finish the process there. You cannot start the process in Mexico unless you will qualify for the RNE program. Good luck!

If you want residency you need to go to a Mexican consulate near you. If you are just visiting they will give you a visa at the point of entry for 6 months or less. You could hire someone in Canada or Mexico who specializes in helping people get resident status.

For US visitors to Mexico who want to stay for 6 months each year, does the income requirements apply?
@babytreese12 күн бұрын
My question as well!
@MexicoRelocationGuide11 күн бұрын
If you are staying 6 months every year you are basically living in Mexico without actually being a resident. 😉 and immigration can deny you entry next time you come or can give you a shorter term tourist permit

I've been trying to schedule an appointment with the Mexican embassy to get my temporary residency reviewed, but it seems impossible to find an appoinment. The closest embassies to me in San Antonio, Austin, Lareo, and Houston have diredtred me to the Mexican embassy site. It appears that the only appointments availabe are for passports, an INE, and some other thing that I'm not familiar with but doesn't apply to me.

@@gregorriusadolphus2729 I definitely hear you, I've been trying to get an appointment at the Mexican consulate in Indianapolis (I live in Cincinnati Ohio 2hrs away) to apply for dual citizenship but the folks there on the phone just kinda brush me off like I'm bothering them with something petty and couldn't be bothered. They tell me to go online but at the same time they don't know when any new appointments will be available....I wonder if I can accomplish this in Mexico? @GlenHavenRoadSoquelCalifornia 73 and just escaped the US in the Summer with pets! I have lived 2 different places and never had a reason to be fearful of anything. I walk to shop local and catch an "InDrive" to go deeper into the city. Quite inexpensive. There are also public buses in Puerto Vallarta that cost like $0.50 each way. As anywhere, I am not walking around in dark neighborhoods at night - common sense. Aside from law enforcement, I have never seen a person carrying a gun here. Mexican people have been very helpful, even if you aren't perfect in Spanish! And, they are not against renters having pets! That was a huge problem for me in the US. Come on down - I can afford to eat, feed my pets and buy the supplements I need, too

Thanks for the video. Your friend is blurry, maybe something is wrong with her camera. Claudia and Trump talked on Nov. 26. 2024 and it was a good conversation. They had a meeting of the minds concerning 'illegal immigration' and many other topics. They have already began to work together. Facebook-Getting Mexican Residency will be a good resource for facilitators to help in the process for getting temporary residency. The consulate process you will need to do on your own but the rest of the process can be done with a facilitator. It will be the best $150-$250 you have ever spent. They do all the paperwork , make the appt. and translate for you. $3500 to $5000 is crazy for current income requirements, when will it become completely ridiculous. Oh wait, it is completely ridiculous now. If the UMA doesn't pass officially then hopefully the RNE will get renewed.
