Yes at times it does because the autoboxes, both CVT and torque converter take about half a second to respond to heavy throttle input.

Go for Creta (Diesel) only.. Even if you purchase E variant you will get other things done after market within ₹50k and make it like EX variant.. And in terms of exterior-interior looks, feel and comfort it is the best..

Perhaps the most under engineered powertrain in segment Both Creta and Tiagun has 6 speed manual or 7DCT this has 5 speed manual or 6 speed TC Power is also least in segment

You're saying DIESEL VARIANTS ALONE as if there are more than 2 fuel variants. 53% Diesel means 47% Petrol which in itself is a significantly competitive and high percentage when compared to the previous decade or even 4-5 years ago as well.

Yes, it mainly because price difference between these two fuels has diminished in last 4-5 years. Now with turbo petrols , even the torque performance of petrols has improved to level of diesels

If you want manual then go for Creta. The Astor petrol manual is lethargic, especially at lower revs. The engine really has to be worked to make it going.

While the car has AI and modern features and boasts of best in class infotainment , it's unable to fix basic USB feature like folder scan. Even in Hector it has the same issue. Songs stored in multiple folders in USB stick cannot be played based on your choice as there is no folder scan option. All songs gets mixed up and it plays in a system driven random order! It's a basic USB feature available on all mp3 players and entry level cars. It's unfortunate that a hifi car like this is unable to provide basic features while it boasts of AI. Repeated complaints to MG has not helped Car drive etc is good

I think they brought the petrol as a filler till Indians catch up with the EVs, which are a bit pricier. This model is just the MG ZS EV with petrol engine and connected car features.

@@prathammalkani5232 The Astor naturally aspirated engine takes its own sweet time to pick up speed. There is definitely lack of performance especially in the lower rev range. Quick overtakings on single lane highways and roads will be a very cumbersome task. For sedate driving it is ok. Engine is otherwise smooth.

I had booked but then cancelled again. This car is very cramped from inside, Rear legroom is good but that’s because it has very less under thigh support. And then there is transmission tunnel in between, hence its very cumbersome to allow seating for third passages, At front, the legroom is very very cramped. The middle walls of gear tunnel will poke your legs again and again, I really wanted to buy, but The space and comfort is very important for me if I want to plan long trips . Sad but true, very nice car but very cramped, even the Tiguan feels better from inside

It's British. Current ownership is Chinese but that has nothing to do with car's technology. Even Volvo is owned by Chinese but that doesn't take away it's Swedish USP. Same with JLR.
