Maybe clarifying this is valid for the Salisbury axle for GT's and post 1967 Tourers only is worthwhile , the earlier banjo axle requires another method for freeing the whole diff after taking out the halfshafts on both sides.

Thanks for your help. I might just try to get one. BTW : you show one of the drive shafts being removed to replace the thrust washers. Is this necessary? Great video! I hope that you will make more.

Why does one of the drive shafts need pulling out? Is it possible to change the washers without doing this?

mikeatyouttube Appologies, I've just seen it. Thanks for clarifying. Will start shortly on my MGB GT V8 and your videos have given me confidence to do the job myself. Thank you for uploading.

By the way.. Were you driving the car with no fuel tank?
@mikeatyouttube7 жыл бұрын
Yes, indeed. I converted the car to electric drive so no need for a tank :)

Electric motor?
@mikeatyouttube6 жыл бұрын
Yes. I converted it from the petrol/gas engine to a direct drive AC induction motor. I have some lithium batteries to power it. I see you have a GT. I converted a friends GT a few years ago - interesting exactly the same color as yours. Although my car has a range of about 40 miles, my friend's car will do about 120 miles. Dig around on the videos on my channel and you'll find a couple of videos of that conversion.
