Good question, I haven’t been able to figure out how to do this either and suspect it’s not possible

Not possible to bind multiple phones at once. If it is bind to phone A, phone B can get into the same email account and password, it will connect to the car straightaway but kick out the phone A at the same time. The same applies to Phone A when it reconnects.

Important to know, is that the “connect” button will not show if the vehicle is already connected/bind to an account (previously owner or such as that) .Then the car needs to be unbind by the previous owner or by MG.

Hi Jerry, It has been around a year, I just purchased a excite 51 it does not have the user tab, are the cars you are getting now the same? How do you finish binding if I haven't got access to the second QR code?

By far this is most detailed & organised tutorial, I’ve seen for ismart. However, I’m still not able to bind :( I’m using iPhone 15 pro and have picked My MG4 just two days back. One dealer says it’s not available yet! But I see you put this video just 2 weeks back. Pls advise

It is available for NZ & AU spec. Have you gone through all the steps in this video? What did it say when not binding?

Yes, I’m in Australia, 2795 Yes, I did follow all the steps. I even deleted the app and started fresh so to not miss anything. I can log in and scan the QR codes but at the final step after scan, the app goes to the browser, then to app store and says app not available. I’m already signed in to Australian app store

No need. The vehicle has built-in SIM card.

Why do they make the UI navigation different across MG4 SE vs Trophy? (“Essence vs Excite” that is) - why not have parity lol. I just upgraded from an SE to a Trophy through the work electric car scheme, and i spent so long looking for this! Thanks for the video

MG4 Essence: yes with voice command under bluetooth. MG4 Excite only if you connect Android Auto.

Hi Jerry i have just bought a used MG4 Trophy in the UK and i can't use the app because its bound by the previous owner and i can't get any response from them to unbind the app. Have you any idea's what i can do to unbind the car. Thanks

Hi, the previous owner needs to unbind it from their phone. or you will need to get the MG dealership or MG to reset it for you.

I've been using an another electric car for 3 years but I never had this problem. For charging I use a granny charger from Taysla. What I am doing wrong? See some pictures. Thank you!

Hi Jerry. Have you had any issues regarding binding the MG4? I followed your instructions in this video and when I go to scan the QR code, I get "QR code is not identified, please try again" on my phone. The Privacy Code on the car is set to YES and the clock on the car and my phone are in sync. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy A03 and has NZ as the region. I actually uninstalled the app and installed it again carefully following your instructions, checked the settings on both the car and the phone, but still no success with the same message as shown above. Any thoughts, or should I go back to the dealership and ask them to sort it out. Cheers, Ian.

In the car setting, set time to Auckland and enable auto set time.

Hi Jerry. Thanks so much for your reply. I found those two settings on the car and changed them. Scan was successful and I now have the app working on my phone. Much appreciated and your videos have been a huge help in getting to know the car better. After two months of ownership, I am very happy with my MG4. When I tap connect vehicle and scan the 2nd QR code, it comes up on the phone with 'this app not available in your country'. I'm in Australia, my iPhone is Australian and my App Store is set to Australia.

Cover one of the QR code with your hand or whatever. Make sure the camera is scanning the connection one ONLY.

I registered an account 😂. Trying to follow the instructions for an Essence. All good, right up until now”enter the code” yeah, Right Mate. Which code? Does this mean “create a code”. If so then surely that is the description which must be used here. I think I will try that tomorrow. Sigh.

No, it’s not the mic position. It’s the mic settings. Somehow it was set at -3db where it should have been -18 to -9 for better quality sadly.

This is a TERRIBLE process. How do you actually do it? The video almost explains it but there are issues. For a start, I cannot copy and paste the code on an iPhone (some apps let you do this but not this one). Try holding a phone, a pen and a writing pad in a car at the same time. Then you have to make up a password and remember that to re-enter that. I have tried to do it 3 times now but I fear I will never succeed. I have successfully done all sorts of tech set ups before but this seems a lot more fiddly than usual. I think I need two devices to do this. I have not yet got to register an account. The process of binding it to the car is a long way off. I am seriously irritated by the process. I will try registering the account separately first. Maybe that The QR code stuff will have to wait.
