Best of luck with your project. You will already know that the spares for the MG B's are readily available and "cheap-ish" . The bones of these cars are simple, but I would like to advise you if you have something that needs attention when you've gone deep into the car's build....do it while you can.... odds on it will fail if not done. The floor really should be done properly as I had a Mini with similar holes and patched it with marine grade stainless steel mesh and two pack epoxy (all at a five fingered discount), but, when all was put back and carpeted, whilst no leaks and a structurally better than original gives a feeling of dissatisfaction. Do it once and do it right! Anyway mores the point where will you mount a Seiko dash clock on the car!!! I mention this because last time I visited my brother in the UK on his 1925 3/4.5 Bentley he had removed the original Breguet clock 'cos it kept on breaking and was hugely expensive to repair and put in it's place a 1970's clock from a Russian nuclear bomber (the Breguet is safe inside a lined draw in his shed).

I have a WW2 cockpit chronograph from a German plane, but was thinking that instead of using that I'd get a WW2 Spitfire cockpit clock. They're very cool.

Well either would look great, however if the clock is a Smiths or a British Jeager, you might have to put a put a modern movement in it. However, any analog would look good.@@SpencerKleinVintageWatch

Enjoyed the update! I have toyed with the idea of buying a MG-TD. Moss has all the parts and they are not that expensive. That is amazing, replacement parts readily available and inexpensive for a 65 year old MG. Good luck, and I smashed the like!

The bars bolted to the leaf springs are to prevent axle tramp and spring wind up. Not sure how well they worked. They were common in the late 60's and early 70's as a modification to more over powered American cars with leaf springs like old Mustangs. I've never seen them on an MG before.

Randy Allen yes I’ve also seen them used to increase load carrying capabilities, or to help out old weak springs. Either way to increase rigidity.

MGB’s are ten a penny here in the uk, and they are a very affordable and cheap to buy / run classic comparative to UK Fords of the same era which sell for crazy money. My advice would be to change the engine in favour of the Rover V8 which is a common period mod and gives it more smiles per gallon😄

I cant think of a better person to rebuild a carby! Spencer if you get a chance to watch the series ¨A Car Is Reborn¨ with Mark Evans I recommend it. He rebuilds an E Type and some of the things he does might inspire you...cheers Russ
