As a long time Eminem fan I find his most recent work on Kamikaze & Music To Be Murdered By fascinating, and I find it so infuriating when people throw out the lazy opinion that he's "not what he was" because its not a relevant point to make as none of the great musical artists stay the same throughout their career. the SSLP, MMLP & Eminem show were genre, era defining albums that were like nothing the mainstream had heard before. Trying to make an album 20 years later with the same rawness is virtually impossible, but that's not to say it's impossible to still put out great music, and he's doing so in a different way. The last 2 albums don't have songs like Stan, The Way I Am, Rock Bottom, Sing For The Moment etc because he's not - and doesn't need to be - that artist anymore. What they do have though is word play, lyricism and technical ability on a higher level than he's ever been at in my opinion. Some of the bars on MTBMB are insane and I for one can't wait for the next album to drop out of nowhere
