Also (for sleep bombing users), if you wear the Felyne Mask, you'll get the Bomber Strengh Up skill which increases the damage of bombs by x1.5. for even more destruction! Nice video, hunter, and those hornetaurs can go to hell lol

It's finally time, my PSP is back up! When i left off, i was doing the low rank guild hall key quests (god, what a mouthful!) To get into HR, i finished that yesterday, and today i beat HR Khezu and tried HR Congalala (and failed) but now, i'll try again and along the way i will kill HR Basarios, so i am pretty excited! Oh, and i just noticed that, the game is... Shorter than i thought? I dunno, it took me 2 months (september to november) to reach 3 stars, and then i utterly destroyed everything afterwards. (Except Shen Gaoren, i didn't kill him, i just repelled him sadly.)

That's why i chose to be a Gunner,no matter Light or Heavy.But somehow i find it more effective to use Heavy Bowgun due to his hard shell.But you gotta reckon his moves cause fighting a large monster with less manueverable Bowgun seems tricky.Sheathe and Unsheathe is the most important thing i think.

why do u put small bomb farther, does it take up the x3 dmg?

Yep, only the first hit will be 3x damage, small bombs are completely optional, you can also use paintballs or stones or a normal attack or kicking it (it'll hurt though lol) but you gotta make sure the bombs are the thing that wakes it up. The math, simplified is basically like 4 large bombs, the first bomb (150 by default, 225 with the bomber skill) is multiplied by 3 and then the second bomb hits. In my case it deals ~900 with each bomb dealing 225 damage, though this is a high rank Basarios, he does resist a bit of that but it does ignore hitzones.

Yeah I feel that lol, you'll get used to it! I still can't find my way around most of the old maps like I can with Forest & Hills or the Snowy Mountains etc. If it helps, you can bring a Farcaster with you each time to move to the camp right when the quest starts 🙂 Good luck! It's a tricky change, but it makes things a little more interesting I think 😊

Bruh how are you not bouncing? I’m playing lance and I bounce literally everywhere, with green sharpness. I resorted to dash at him for 35 minutes ( the lance dash ignores bounces ) and doing minimal damage, sometimes I just don’t understand why some weapons bounce while others don’t

​@@HeadHunter455 Bounce mechanics work like this, theres hitzone, sharpness and innate weapon sharpness modifier, if after the calculations the hitzone is below 25, you'll bounce off, calculation being: Monster Hitzone x (Sharpness Mod x Weapon Mod), Sharpness mod is 1.00/1.125/1.25/1.30/1.50 in FU from Yellow to Purple. Weapon Mod sharpness is 1 unless: Its Sword & Shield, Long sword, or Greatsword. For SnS its 1,12 (later downed to 1,06 on Portable 3rd Onwards) Greatsword Charge levels gets different modifiers: 1,1/1,2/1,3 for charge levels, and additionally if hits the center of the blade its a 1,05 boost on top of that, LS gets 1,12 when on full gauge or using spirit combos, and also has the 1,05 boost if you hit with the center of the blade, source: w.atwiki.jp/mhp2g/pages/919.html So lets say, Basarios has a 20 hitzone on stomach, you used a sns with green sharpness (1,125) and (1,12) multiplied give 1,26 x 20 = 25.2, which would be above the 25 and you wouldn't bounce, lance doesnt have such modifiers so the formula is sinply 1,125 x 20 = 22,5 < 25 = Bounce As extra info, if the hitzone you're hitting is >45 after calculations you'll notice a "lag" to the hit (known as Hitstop) on top of a BIG blood splash, 25 but 45 is a BIG blood splash on top of the hitstop. TL;DR: SnS has an innate sharpness modifier that is equal to an extra level of sharpness (Yellow becomes Green, Green becomes Blue, Blue becomes White, and Purple becomes Purple+) hence the reason SnS bounces less.

If so can't wait for hr green Plesioth, this stupid green asshole took my around 4 days to beat and I tried many things like longsword, bow, bowgun then I went back to hammer and after maybe 4 or 5 attempt I cleared that stupid quest.

It's a unique feature of SNS, if you press square (item use) while blocking you'll use the selected item, it's extremely useful in some cases for trap placement, bombs, healing, sharpening, etc. It saves a small amount of time, since sns sheathes so quickly anyway, though sometimes that's all you need.

You can kinda use any set with 5 open slots, the Bombardier jewels give you +2 each to the Bomber skill, which, besides the weapon, is kinda the most important part. Attack Up Large helps a lot, but isn't as necessary I guess.

I dunno if its consistent, but found out that monsters have increased health when you bring a sleep bombing load-out. Does it happen on all monsters? ( I encountered it on both tigrex and basarios; hp hack to confirm) Village tigrex in particular gains ~30% more health if you bring a single LBB+....

Monsters will have a variable health between a minimum and a maximum value, it's just random, as far as I can tell. It might be connected to how large the monster is, but I don't think so. Dunno.

basarios was easy the only problem when i'm doing the sleep bombing the vespoids and hornetaur. or so i call them "simps" when i put basarios to sleep they just want to hit it. also when i was about to put bombs vespoid paralyzed me and hornetaur hit the basarios. that clearly proves that those insects are the only enemy. also could you perhaps make a guide on the urgent quest? the monoblos and white monoblos?

It all depends on the preferences in weapons. Personally, I use only hammers against all types of monsters, with the exception of plesiot, it is very inconvenient to fight with weapons with a small radius. And so the hammer is very convenient, you wait for the right moment and with one charged attack you suffer serious damage. Plus, there are good chances of knocking out a monster if you knock on the head
