This MHL to HDMI adapter plugs into the micro usb on your Android device and sends the signal through an HDMI cable to your television. Using this cable you can watch your netflix movies and other streaming media on your big screen television. What is different about doing it this way is that it is possible to stream the media right from the cellular network without using wifi. Be careful though and make sure your data plan supports downloading the large amounts of data that it takes to stream movies. If so you might look into connecting your phone to your home wifi so you do not run up your data usage. Be sure to check out the video below of us trying this cable out for the first time. We love these first look videos like these because we are in discovery mode when we open a package for the first time, just like you will be when you open it when you see it. I have cords exactly like those. Tried to use it with my hdmi tv and my samsung s3. Had my tv input set to hdmi 1, Didnt work. Then i tried the hdmi 2 setting, didnt work. Oh and yes, the usb was hooked up too. All cords were hooked up. So what am i doing wrong here? Help please.

I just bought one and I couldn't get mines to work I have a note 5 but I don't have a laptop so maybe there was another video where you can put the UBS cord in the TV so I'll try that tomorrow but thank you at least I could understand you because you were speaking English there was another one that had a really thick accent I couldn't understand what they were saying so thank you for the video it helped me a lot.

You just need a connection to keep phone charged... I usually use a large portable rechargeable battery.....but any other options will work fine......

Almost all tv's have a usb port however not all tv's have the charge ability through that usb port. Some only have it to receive information from a usb cor excample. Not all of the tv's have that dual function fo being able to charge a device. Ic you wanna see if your tv has the charge usb dual function plug your phone into the tv with the usb port on tv and see if it charges your phone. (If not, your tv does not have the dual charge function.)

After some problems connecting, i solve it by turning on airplane mode and restart the tv. Then when the screen is on the tv u can switch back to normal mode.

+Giovanni Ramirez Chromecast is wireless and a direct connection like this is less convenient but performance can be much better. I've used screen casting on the Chromecast and it is heavily dependant on your wireless network performance. This is direct and wouldn't suffer from any issues. I was thinking the same thing about the USB plug into the TV.

Yeah i agree with you but also the cons of having the cable means that it might bend, in the long run, and slowly stop working. Whereas the chromecast it is wireless and hassle free. So it all depends on whether you want quality, being the traditional cable, or hassle-free.

Ismael Ortiz The one he used was specifically for a variety of Samsung/Galaxy Models, it does work for other phones....but you're going to have to check to verify if it will work for yours..... I had a similar issue with this type not being compatible with my phone..... There's a number of sites available that will match your phone up with the proper adapter.... Amazon also offers information for you......
