These models look like they're out of either mh3u or monster hunter online, granted IG wasnt in 3u but in 4u and I think online didnt have IG. The switch version of 3u was very detailed from what I remember, personally my all time favorite monster hunter. But the only time IG was in monster hunter was on the 3DS, but i bet someone out there is creating the original for IG

The Brachy SA carried me through 3U, I will never forget it's unique squared blade. I really do hope they solve some of the brachy weapons with the release of Raging Brachydios.

MH3U is my first game. I was browsing the weapon tree on wiki. I was still in village quest, I had no idea how to play SA, I have no idea what's Slime, I knew that it comes from a monster called Brachydios but I dunno what it looks like, I thought it is probably blue and green cuz that's what the weapon looks like. All I know for sure is I will work my way to get that weapon because it looks cool AF and I want to own one.

I guess since these are a different development team, they decided to put realism on here by putting logic over weapon trees. In a realism sense, it would make sense to make it look like you just slapped in the scales and skin of a monster from a previous weapon (because weapon tree). But in design sense, it's pretty bad. But not gonna lie tho, the amount of love these devs added to their game is still overwhelming and I will sure miss the old feel and design of classic MH (unless they make some kind of new gen based on old engine, that is)

If I remember correctly, the team for the game is pretty small (they were just testing if the game would work well on other consoles), so I can forgive the designs, the game is complete and amazing and still geting new stuff. I heard somewhere that there would ve transmogs for the weapons. And when MHW2 comes they can (and will) hire more people with the money they got with MHW. Powerfull thumbnail by the way, Canta

I like cool weapon designs as much as anyone else, but I disagree with you massively. I'd much rather new monsters with new weapons and armor, even if half the weapon designs are kinda meh/boring any day over no new monsters, weapons and armor just so that old weapons can be redesigned. Also, like the other guy said, not like you or 99% of the players would use them anyway as there are much better weapons currently available (and in the case of Brachi, they are about to get an upgrade with Raging Brachi). For MHW 2, hell yeah, I want all the weapons to have unique designs, but this far into MHW? Literally no point.

TaigaGaoo I think that people in general would be more willing to use other weapons that aren’t ‘the meta’ if they had their unique personality. I know for SURE I’d use the Brachy GL if it had its original look because I’ve got a ton of personal history with that weapon. Would I sometimes use the “more powerful” things if I’m farming something that’s hard to tackle or whatever? Sure. But just for playing around, I’ll use whatever weapon I like the best.

Man with this kind of effort being put in to bring back the old designs I really hope Capcom realize how much people want them and they dedicate an update towards a full redesign of the weapons for us console players. I am probably a little late to the party because i didn't have the time to play iceborne but i stayed spoiler free for the most part and i was super hyped yesterday when i farmed myself the steampunk armor (no other armor was worth sacrificing my high rank set for) and when i beat nargacuga i was super hyped to get my favorite dual blades. I generally was hyped all the time because i could whack my favorite monsters with an oversized club, but when i looked up my nargacuga db's all that hype instantly vanished and i put down the game. I was super optimistic the whole time. I mean how could capcom model seliana to look this great, have all the awesome customization features in your home, have this great animation for the new cooking dish and then make the narga dual blades literally *two iron axes with shitty scales at the fucking handle* I am still so tilted to hell and back over those weapons. Seriously i've defended Capcom so much when the trailers for iceborne first released and we saw some shitty weapon design and some good weapon design. Honestly those mods are the only way i'm gonna keep playing without wanting to uninstall right now. God this tilts me

@@AzureRoxe Yeah again random guys who don't have a set schedule and a person breathing down their backs. You can argue all you want about where the team cut corners from, but whatever manpower they had, they obviously put into the ACTUAL weapons you would use. Everyone complains and has a right to complain, but I can guarantee 100% that no one would be using these weapons because endgame weapons are the meta and people would rather use them. Yeah they existed, but most people and yourself can't seem to understand that World/Iceborne are built from scratch. They aren't using preexisting assets and even when watching this video again, you can clearly see that a lot of the weapons look a bit cartoonish and not in the realistic aspect.

the dev can totally patch the weapon design easy but the one who decide it is the capcom higher up also idk if its true or not but the lead weapon designer who make the chicken drumstick db is actually being underpressure by deadlines from capcom higher up so he just slaping some skin on the iron/bone tree weapon to make it on schedule which in result he is being fired
