Jennifer was more concerned about going to the barn everyday after work to go hang out with her horses rather than pay attention to her child who she gave birth to. Jennifer was obviously living in some sort of alternate reality where she thought she was carefree and fancy free and didn't have responsibilities at home. So far the testimony that I've heard shows that she is beyond neglectful and created a murderous child. Ethan knew if he pointed a gun at point blank range at his classmates they would end up dead on the other side. In my opinion he knew the difference between right and wrong and he was wanting to do all kinds of wrong on November 30th. Hopefully he'll go to the big boys jail and really know what it's like to be around people who are more scarier than him. For the rest of his life he can think about what he did on that fateful day!

I can't believe the amount of people coming to the defense of these 2 sad excuses for parents! It would be one thing if these 2 had been TRYING to get their son some help but that isn't the case here. These parents couldn't be bothered. And I'm not sure but I think they may have them handcuffed in court because they are deemed escape risks due to their actions following the totally preventable tragedy. Too many parents view school as their children's either other parent and expect the schools to teach them everything or as their daily babysitter imo. Start becoming accountable for the morals and character you display and teach your children people. Makes me wonder how well these people who are coming to their defense for one reason or another know and keep track of their own children. Yes I know terrible people come from great parents- but a huge amount come from s****y parents like these who can't be bothered. And WHY do they BOTH have attorneys they chose but their CHILD is left hanging with a court appointed one? They're being charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection with their son committing murder with a weapon that they had bought for him. What is a perversion of Justice is that they didn't get charged with more counts for the other seven people that were injured.

@emoliver802 жыл бұрын
@YourRationalWorldisaCircleJerk when you say "attire" and "dress like this" I'm assuming you're referring to the jail garb (jumpsuits). Defendants are not allowed to wear their own "street clothes" to court until a jury is present. When a jury is present, they are not allowed to be handcuffed, and they also then have the option of wearing street clothes if they choose to. As for the shackles at pretrial, it could be various reasons. It's a case by case decision, and typically it is for safety reasons. In their case, I would assume it's because #1 they have been warned more than once about gesturing to eachother with kisses and I love yous etc and #2 they *are* considered a flight risk... hence the reason for the bond they were given. Prior to being arrested, they had emptied all of their bank accounts, their own sons bank account, made calls to try to sell their horses, left home and didn't turn themselves in when they knew they had warrants, hid in a building, parked their suv in a manner to purposely hide the license plate, had a friend bring them alcohol and food, didn't answer the door when LE came knocking and when LE broke in they were hiding behind a mattress. So, just because *you* may not think they are a flight risk, or because *you* think they don't look like they'd be a flight risk or try to run and that it seems silly, doesn't mean they aren't. Just because you think they may not try to harm anyone in the courtroom doesnt mean they wouldn't. Afterall, they *are* they ones who failed their own child and raised him to be a murderous monster. No telling what they're capable of. No telling what anyone is capable of who doesn't want to be charge with such charges and wants an attempt to avoid spending years in prison. At the end of the day, it is up to the courts whether or not Defendants are cuffed/shackled or not, as long as the jury is not present.
