Just lost Dad last Thursday. He loved Stephen Stills and was the best pilot I’ll ever know. I sent this video to him a few months back and we loved it. I’ve been watching it since he passed and it’s been a comfort. Thank you for making this. Flying was his favorite thing to do in life. RIP Dad, love you forever.❤️ ✈️

Sorry for your loss. I am lucky to still have my dad, he’s 66, a born survivor, and I’ll be 45 soon. I’m gonna send this to my dad, he loves all kinds of flight 😉. I’m lucky for every iteration of CSNY, Grateful Dead, NRPS, etc etc, my dad’s gave me all his vynil as he reckons cds are the future lol. Peace all ☮️☮️

For those that don't know the real history of the Treetop Flyers they would fly over the jungle low and shoot out cannons to mark places for the Air Force to napalm or bomb sectors. They were some major players in Vietnam. They drew fire from the jungle and knew if they went down a good chance they'd either die or be a POW. People that's a bad @ss if ever there was one. Much respect to all our veterans that were either in wars or dragged into them by the lying ass government. Salute to you all for your service.

Was over in Vietnam, chasin' NVA The government taught me, and they taught me right, Stay under the treeline, and you might be alright I'm a treetop flyer So I'm comin' home, I'm runnin' low and fast I promised my woman this is gonna be my last I get the ship down, I tie her fast Then some old boy walks up, Says "Hey son, you wanna make some fast cash?" I'm a treetop flyer Well there's things I am, and there's things I'm not I am a smuggler and I could get shot Aint going to die, I ain't goin' to get caught, 'Cause I'm a flyin' fool and my aeroplane is just too hot I'm a treetop flyer Born survivor Usually work alone

It’s the story of a Vietnam vet who came home from the war with a marketable new skill: the ability to fly under the radar. When these pilots returned from combat to a public that often shunned them, and wouldn’t give them a job or help them deal with what they’d been through, they found a way to make money with this skill in running drugs, guns, and whatever other contraband someone would pay them to deliver.

Guys, this song is about Barry Seals from Baton Rouge, LA. He was a smuggler for Pablo Escobar and the Medellin Drug Cartel during the 1980s. Barry was a pilot's pilot, a born stick and rudder man. He consistently flew under the radar to avoid detection from the law. Eventually he found religion and turned evidence over to the FBI regarding the Cartel, but it was too late. Our government failed to protect him and he was shot in Baton Rouge by two Escobar henchmen. A film loosely based on his life starring Tom Cruise as Seals was produced roughly five years ago. Seals is still considered somewhat of a folk hero in parts of Colombia.
