I’m with you. I studied interior design and this has been one of my greatest complaints. I believe that your home should reflect your personality and not the trends and what some decorator thinks. I believe that a good decorator should take your ideas and then guide you through the process so that it still reflects who you are. When everyone’s home begins to look the same because of the trends, that’s when I walk away.

@@pirate89RAWR I can’t speak on the quality of SMEG specifically, but just in general it’s entirely possible for a company to be behind several different brands in different qualities. They can even be produced in the same factory too and still be wildly different quality. It depends on things like the quality of the materials, how strict quality control is and how large error margins they allow etc. which all will be different for each of the brands they own. And also something being produced in China doesn’t automatically mean something is bad quality, Samsung produces things in China too.

The propaganda works wonders and it is quite hard for us to dismentle all the fake news that exists. Some news are definitely more reliable , like the guardian, but criticism is still needed. European news are always a lil bit late compared to ukrainians of course. And most of russians soldiers are indoctrinated and brainwashed into thinking they are saving Ukraine rn. For now the russian army is targetting civilians : they destroyed a museum, attacked a childcare center,... And things like that.

I've been watching this channel for awhile and have to say, it is such a breath of fresh air to see how much time you spend with your family. Love your kitchen make over. Adore the backsplash-so worth every minute of work. I also did a diy of my kitchen changing all of the doors from the formica euro doors of the 80s with the wood strip. We opted for shaker doors with euro hinges and 4glass front doors that had been solid. Then i wall papered the inside rear wall of the glass front cabinets. The wallpaper matches the heavy cotton fabric upholstery of our swivel stools . I tiled the counter with cobalt blue porcelain tiles to make it heat resistant and get the color i wanted. The island is navy, as is 1 upper wall with the lower half white wainscoting. We scraped off the popcorn ceiling too and added crown molding. White and navy looks so clean. The re-do was so worth it.

Mia I come from a place where we have earthquakes and it’s common to use blu tack to stick things to shelves so they don’t fall - not sure if it’s called blu tack everywhere but the putty stuff you use to stick posters to your wall as a teen. It would be a good idea to use that on those beautiful antiques! I love the kitchen, it’s so my style, my favourite parts are the backsplash and butterfly handles

“Blu Tack” is a brand name for it but it’s basically become the name for all of those like sticky reusable putty things. I haven’t heard another name for it so as far as I know that’s what it’s called in all English speaking countries. I’m also from a region with lots of earthquakes but I haven’t used blu tack in so long, it just sticks to like everything and is a pain to clean off. We just push things to the back of the shelf unless it’s something very sturdy that can survive a fall. Tbh, we don’t even push back all the fragile stuff but luckily we don’t get many big earthquakes. Our tv is definitely gonna smash if there’s a big earthquake though so let’s hope we don’t get one soon because we just got that tv and it was expensive.

In my opinion, the new fridge is much more aesthetically pleasing compared to the original. Much lighter and softer. You guys did such and amazing job! It was so fun to watch!
