10:24 Traffic is pretty bad during rush hour going westbound on Bird Road. Just to give you an idea, when Santa's Enchanted Forest used to be at Tropical Park, Bird Road would be stuck with bumper-to-bumper traffic both ways. Similarly with the COVID testing as well. And worst of all, there is pretty much no mass transportation in this area, so most people will be coming in cars to watch the games. As much as I like the idea of a new stadium, I don't think Tropical Park should be where it is built. (This is a personal preference, but I kinda like Tropical Park the way it is.)

Great video! If you ever need an interesting parallel for Miami, take a look at UCLA. People were VERY resistant about their leaving the shared L.A. Miami would benefit TREMENDOUSLY from this nearby stadium!

16,000-spot underground parking in South Florida?!? Not to be a downer, but won’t that flood? There is a reason that very few houses have basements in Florida. Even if only half of those spots are underground, I just don’t see it happening.

Lake area floods all the time. I have walked the park after storms the walkways around the lakes under water. Architect can draw whatever he wants but an engineer needs to core sample and decide. To me this is crazy and no one mentions the large homes around park facing the huge stadium how will this affect their enjoyment and peace living in front of a 65k sest stadium with 16k parking? Maybe the palacial homeowners will want to pay for security to avoid overflow parking and people just arriving to hang out, outside the stadium.

As for traffic. Some said the recent 4th of July fireworks show was a nightmare getting out of the park. But if it’s coordinated correctly, fans can exit Miller Drive side and can drive East to get on the North or Southbound 826 , they can do the same exiting Bird Road. Fans like myself who live Downsouth can use either exit. But I noticed that shelters that are used for party rentals will be gone which is fine with me Lol. But like I mentioned it will be a lot of convincing and money to persuade the county to go along with any purposed plan.

I think there's just to many hurdles to make this doable, the traffic situation will be a nightmare. Secondly I'm not so sure the county is willing to give up the land. This project is run close to a billion dollars by the time it's finished with cost overuns and roadway reconfigurations. I realize Ruiz has deep pockets, but you can't expect him to lay out a billion bucks for this thing and continue to be the biggest contributor of our NIL projects. Thirdly, you have the David Beckam (don't know if I spelled his name right ) professional soccer stadium project that's going to go up less than 10 miles from this stadium (if it happens), and the two projects will probably compete against each other for outside entertainment to generate revenue, not to mention high school football will still be played at this park, can't imagine game day if there's high school football and the U playing on the same day. Miami has never has it's own stadium, the only reason I see to even entertain the idea is to impress recruits. I get fans want the U to have it's own stadium, but a billion dollar venue just to play 6 or 7 games a year? Just seems like a waste to me. The bulk of the fans base doesn't even come from the school, it comes from north dade, Broward, and palm beach county. But it's not my money, we the fans base have beat this issue to death for the last 20 years, and it's always the same results. Just talk.

Coop - First time I went by Tropical park was around 1967 - they had horse racing there - Over the years I have driven by the place but never went there. I think it is a great location for sporting events for the U, and also could be a venue for other gatherings(concerts ect) - The location is not bad with multiple connections of expressways very close by. I think if you can include other UM sports it would be a big hit locally and could be a first class football venue for the Miami Hurricanes for some years to come. Its also close to Miami Internationtional airport which visitors could use to come to for games and afford plenty of hotels and highschool practice facilities for visiting teams. Overall it would be a good option for the Canes. It definitely would draw a lot of folks all around the stadium.

What about the homes that live right next to park? Some are large 1m plus homes?
@lancesligar50152 жыл бұрын
This is a Natural site, the ' greenery' you mentioned are mostly Australian pine trees, yuk!!! There are plenty of areas to designate parking, the creme de la creme solution would be golf cart service to transport fans to the stadium gates. The surrounding area will probably need to be elevated for the possibly low area in the event of torrential rains, which happen often. It's not unusual for rains to reach up to 1, or even 2 inches per hour, which would create flooding. As far as lake tailgating goes, that fits in nicely with the Ruiz family's ownership of Cigaret boats ,which could be rented or otherwise be utilized in some form to create a truly unique fan experience.
@dianarodriguez97832 жыл бұрын
Cigarette boat not going far in these lakes. If elevate this area where does the overflow go? To the million dollar plus homes across the way? You all aren’t looking past park to see what is around on the west side. Homes a quiet neighborhood with expensive homes may not want the mayhem of large stadium to add to already bad traffic on bird road and Miller drive.

Have you ever been on campus? They don't have enough parking for the students, let alone 60,000 football fans.

The traffic at that location is 1 million times worse than hard rock, there’s no Direct highway exit

Maybe a clamshell like Seattle??

How far is it gonna be from the university? Cus that is something I heard about hard rock being too far from the school and a lot of the students don’t want to travel that hour or few hours to the games,the closer to the school the better,it gives it that college atmosphere wish is hands down way better than the pros

@@tedtrowbridge7407 thanks. I know exactly where it is. I live in Miami. Isn't 12 blocks usually considered 1 mile give or take. Go West on Miller about 2 maybe 3 miles and Tropical Park is on your right. It's all good but it should be less than than 5 miles.

Tropical Park is the only real park in that county. It is a public park enjoyed by the people of the community and people of varying economic levels. If the university of miami wants a stadium then they can share the braman dome with the marlins. #StayOutOfTropicalPark

Exactly!!

Tailgating on the water won’t work. You’ll need double the amount of parking to account for trailers. Tropical park is by my house. Personally there will never be enough parking unless they take out a bunch of fields for other sports

Also north lake had a memorial and it would be pretty disrespectful to remove that
@danielaguirre37952 жыл бұрын
Sorry for blowing up comments but I’m commenting as I go. Traffic wise I have no clue how that would be fixed due to the fact that bird road (the street north of the park) is constantly filled with traffic. I’d love to have a stadium so close to my house but realistically I don’t think would work but I also don’t know where else they would put it

Not to mention the Ronald Reagan equestrian center taxpayers already flipped the bill for years ago. Equestrian center doesn’t bother me and I enjoy. 65k seat stadium will be nightmare in this area.

Coop… there could be shuttles leaving from the U with players and fans, U flags on light poles on the stadium route, and a possible transit spur to the stadium. I’ve been advocating for a retractable dome stadium, but I’m an Engineering and Architectural designer so I know it’s possible but many of our cynical fans can be impossible! 🎉😂😊😂🎉

That might add additional unnecessary cost. We need teams to cone down and feel the weather
