Great to see this review on the Miami variety. I'm pretty excited about getting fruits from my grafted tree. I'm also interested to see how all the other varieties you have turn out. Your bunny is so cute and tame!

Soursops are easy to graft, you can have a multigrafted tree easily:)

The one i had in the forest in St. Lucia :) Don’t know if it was any particular variety but flavor was just complex and sweeter. Haven’t tasted that here in FL, could be the climate and soil too.

I eat a lot of soursop in Jamaica. You have to let it stay on the tree longer for better taste. Chances you picked it too soon hence not as sweet as expected. A full fruit can fill you up, and they make delicious drinks.

After viewing this video I bought the 3 gallon Soursop Miami variety from Lara Farms. The tree was pretty shaken up after being shipped for 7 days and 2,800 miles to California, 90% of the leaves have fallen off. I am trying to nurse it back up. Cost was $90 + $51.83 shipping. I am really glad that you pointed out Lara Farms and that they sold me one.

Make sure they’re well protected during winter time. I lost 2 8-ft trees this winter, and the temps didn’t even dip below 41… it was a double cold though, the second one killed the new opening leaves that started to emerge after leaves dropped. These babies are very sensitive until well established

@@growpuravida The plant is doing very well now. I spoke with Julian at Lara Farms about the initial condition of the plant after a week of shipping. I followed his directions to water and keep the moisture at round 20%, new leaves have sprung out. I will keep it in the pot over the winter then plant it next spring. I am really happy with the outcome and would buy from them again.

I grew up eating Soursop in the Philippines. It’s called Guyabano in the North and we call it Abana in Central and Southern Philippines. I tried difft kinds the best one is from my Grandmas tree. It’s so sweet like honey. It’s nutritional property is it’s known good to fight Cancer. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, the variety i tasted is Miami soursop - it’s in the title of the video:) my tallest one is about 8ft now. I had a much older bigger one but killed it by mistake :(

I recently bought a soursop fruit from the farmers market and it was the sweetest one I have ever tasted, so i'm growing the seeds now. Do you know if they grow true to seed?

Yes in my research they are 98-99% true to seed. And seedlings have grown faster than grafted ones.

what usda growing zone are you in? In winter they will need protection if you are 10a or below..in 10b that we are we only protect young trees until tree is 7-8ft tall..also i have observed in our garden they do better in partial shade compared to full sun, and do better when protected from wind.

I lost my 3 year old soursop bought from Lara Farms as a 15 gallon. My tree grew to around 12 ft and beard fruit 2 years in a row. But struggled this year after the frost. I live in Plantation, Florida 6 miles from the ocean. Dont know what I could have done differently (it died on me)

Grow a Little Fruit tree is a book I want to own, but it is about keeping fruit trees at a manageable size through pruning, which also might help with covering for the very few days we get down here. So sorry about your tree. Anyone know what pest or disease attacks the tree and causes bumps along the center of the leaf. Mine was bought from a backyard gardener I have no idea of the cultivar. These cultivars sound wonderful.

it doesn't look like well ripen fruit. It could use couple more days on the counter. Miami produces fairly sweet fruit unless it is fully shaded.

We have been eating very well ripened fruit (different stages, from green soft to black super soft) from the same tree this whole season and the taste is still slightly acidic, the tree grows in full sun.
