Excellent vid. It's not well known that you can airlayer these. Great tips on the iron, zinc and copper. Thanks!

Are you located in Florida? That is fantastic! Congratulations,

Pepe, I’m going to be in Boca Raton on Thursday. If you have a soursap that I can buy from you, I can pick it up if you’re not too far from Boca.

Pepe! I need a soursap tree. I don’t mind if it doesn’t make fruits. I need it for the leaves. Can you help me get one? I’ll be grabbing tree leaves from friends until I get my own tree in my yard.
Ive got a soursop growing in central florida it has 5 flowers that I have seen so far. I have had it in the ground for 3 years now. Its around 12-14 feet tall. Should I be trying to trim the top to keep it smaller?
@Pepesplants2 жыл бұрын
Prune it back about 25 % in the spring. Best to keep them around 8-9 feet at the most. I keep mine bushy at around 7 feet.

@Pepesplants2 жыл бұрын
@@calebsoileau4936 You could hand pollinate them. Is the tree still 12 foot tall?

I have a tree 3 years no fruit yet one flour this year and it’s gone with the rain, the tree is an a pot big pot I am in Melbourne Viera

Soursop trees need hand pollination in most cases. Also full sun. Wet soil could cause fungal diseases so too large a pot could be an issue. Watch my video on pollination. Thanks for watching. Best wishes.

Can you put them directly into the ground from the air layer or do they have to go into a pot first?
@Pepesplants3 жыл бұрын
I think it's better to get them well established in the pot before planting in ground. They need some shade and wind protection to limit chances of dessication etc.

If you are going to cut the non-producing tree, then maybe instead you could try suggestion from one blogger who also had non-producing tree. He beat 3 big nails into the trunk, and tree started to produce next year. Probably those nails caused stress that motivated flowering.

I have heard this before but never tried it. That would be a good experiment and a video for the future. Thank you.
