39:10 Adding another transit card to your collection! 😁 It'll be fun if you can share a picture of all the transit cards you've purchased throughout your travels. 😃 You're so awesome and patient for creating these dedicated public transportation videos. 😎 Public transportation is not as convenient, but $7.25 is bargain if one is not in a rush. Thank you for sharing this informative and relaxing train ride, AK! 🤗

Okay AK I really am glad you posted this recorded video I am thoroughly enjoying it this is your bright line reporter in Orlando lol. Orlando is nowhere near what South Florida is but we are trying The Tri-Rail you are on we have the exact same thing here runs through four counties Volusia Seminole orange and Osceola from DeBary to poinciana which is south of Kissimmee it is called SunRail matter of fact I think they got the idea from Tri-Rail and I believe they bought their locomotives and passenger cars from Tri-Rail looks just like them. I'm about halfway through this video watching on my TV set really a great job looks like you're ready for bright line lol I really enjoy videos like this great job

tip: The Miami metro is a fully elevated subway system (Or metro hence its name) Tri rail is a commuter rail and the metromover is an APM automated people mover.

As a New Yorker I can vouch that our subway system is mostly underground with a few El lines that were shared by subway and el trains from 1905 til 1969, when the lower half of the Myrtle Ave el was abandoned. It joined the subway trains north of Myrtle Ave and Broadway in Brooklyn. My late father worked 1 block away from the junction on the late shift from evening to sunrise the next day.

@@ActionKid, the government of Florida needs to do what the government of California is doing and convert their commuter rail system(s) to electric operation; the transit would be much faster (and less bulky) than what Tri Rail is now.

I was curious about your question regarding a high-rise versus a skyscraper, so I looked it up and now we have the answer. A high-rise has 13 floors and above. A skyscraper has to have 40 floors and above. Then they have low-rise and mid-rise. I'm assuming that maybe buildings 5-6 stories would be called a low-rise and buildings maybe 7-12 stories mid-rise? It can get rather confusing! lol Anyway, thanks for the ride Action Kid, it was fun:-)
@david1george
@david1george Жыл бұрын
A skyscraper does not have to have 40 floors to be called a skyscraper because office and commercial buildings usually have much higher ceilings than residential buildings which would could confuse the distinction. Engineering practice is the distinction for a skyscraper is 496' or higher. Take, for instance, Downtown Detroit around where I live. They have 8 skyscrapers with a 9th one on the way. The Cadillac Tower is 40 stories, but only 438' (NOT a skyscraper). But, all 5 towers of the GM HQ Ren Cen are skyscrapers (the 4 office towers are 522', but only 39 stories tall). BTW the center Marriot hotel for the Ren Center is 73 stories, but only 727' high. Notice how the office towers in the Ren Cen average 13' high floors, but the Marriot hotel has less than avg. 10' high floors.

@@david1george I get what you're saying and it makes sense but I was only going by what the internet says defines a skyscraper. Whether the information posted online is incorrect I can't say, but I do understand that a 40-story building with 16' ceilings is going to be twice as high in feet compared to a building with mostly 8' ceilings.

Another great video journey! Many thanks! This got me reminiscing about my trips 50+ years ago back to college by bus, travelling from Boston to Bangor, Maine. I still remember the stops along Rte. 1: Portsmouth, Portland, Brunswick, Bath, Thomaston, Rockland, Camden, Belfast, Bucksport - "Change here for Ellsworth, Bar Harbor, and Eastport" - Winterport, and Bangor where we'd see how many students we could fit into a taxi for the trip out to the University in Orono.

I used to live near Griffin road and I was gobsmacked finding out that there are no through running bus lines on that stroad, like a bus from Davie or Weston to the beach feels like the easiest line to make. Not to mention that Weston, a city of 67k only has one 'bus' line (they run a minibus for that route) that only runs on weekdays twice a day. But God forbid rich people see any form of public transit.

I taught gymnastics for children whose parents lived in Atherton. Some of the worst people on planet earth. They would ask a question, and when you answered they snuffed at you. Never said thank you and barely even acknowledged us peons as human beings. Also extremely cheap. If there was a raise in class prices, they’d have a fit.
