I've loved Crockett's Theme since I was about 7 years old... I'm 38 now and that song truly inspired me to become a musician at the age of about 12.. I'd sit for hours listening to it over and over, working out every note... That arpeggio bass-line is so awesome! (the quickly played notes that you hear when the video starts and that play through the entire song...)

this scene really broke me in a weird way. the first part of crocketts theme shows the melancholy and almost hopelessness with crockett, as hes a man so dedicated to his job that his marriage and family life is falling apart, and he knows it and theres no way he can back out. he wants to protect people, but he also ends up hurting those most closest to him. his profession is dangerous, being an undercover cop and he knows it, but he cant back out of it. while the latter part of crocketts theme has the riffs and guitars that give a feeling of hope, at the end, it burns away. it perfectly fits with his character. hes a family man, who really loved his ex wife and loved his son, but ended up putting them in serious danger and wouldnt see them for three years. while it was to protect them, i couldnt imagine how his son felt. he tries so hard to help people and give them a second chance, but sometimes it just doesnt work out the way its meant to. it almost feels like he questions himself, why hes a cop when in the end, when he tries to help, it doesnt go well. am i reading too deep into an instrumental song from a decade i wasnt born in? yes. and im not sorry for it
