Miami Vice: "Shadow In The Dark" Trailer

This was my fourth attempt at making a trailer for one of my favorite episodes of Miami Vice. "Shadow In The Dark" from Season Three was written by Chuck Adamson (the Chicago police detective that took down the real life Neil McCauley).

I just finished watching this episode. Definitely one of the best MV episodes in the series and Don Johnson was outstanding in this one. Love PMT’s reactions to his partner losing it, seemed very realistic. Their chemistry on the show was so good. Thanks for providing some great Miami Vice content on KZbin. 👍

This is the episode that got me interested in psychology in my early teens. I used to ask myself, how did Crockett tap into this guy's mind, like Gilmore did? Why did this obsession nearly destroy this veteran cop with an iron will? What lasting effect did it have in his mind, or whatever was left of it? After seeing my interest in this episode and after answering a few questions as best she could, my mother bought me a psychology book. I was unable to take psychology in school but a decade later I took a semester of it in college, along with sociology, philosophy, anthropology and history. This is the episode that introduced me to the mysterious world of the human mind, which cAn be the darkest, most evil place and thing of all.

This episode showed the ability of the creators to use all of the elements to tell the story. The combinations of lighting and shadow, colors and composition, editing and musical score along with great performances from Don Johnson, Jack Thibeau and the haunting performance of the late Vincent Caristi, were all A+ grade! The opening sequence of the episode, which contained no vocals, is truly masterful! The director, Christopher Crowe, should have at least been given an emmy nomination as this was a work of art! If you ever wanted to see the true power of Miami Vice's production team, this episode gives you a fantastic look at why this show has remained iconic some 35 years since it hit the airwaves. Your development of this trailer shows your appreciation of the creators efforts! Even though you used musical elements that weren't in this episode, it demonstrates your familiarity with the show overall. Well Done!!!

Totally Mann-hunter! Like that film, this episode was a masterpiece of atmosphere and acting from the start where the psycho walks across the SW 1st street bridge - escorted by the Eno song 'Two Rapid Formations'. We'll never see television like that again!!

One of my favorit episode (in Germany: "Schatten in der Nacht"). A mystical "Home Invader" at the first scene mixed with decade ahead music fron Brian Eno. A absolut thrill, 'cause nobody notice the "Visitor". The question is: what can maybe to do? Is he extreme dangerous or simply cray? Evan a police officer get a badly burnout and cracking upset.
