Nevermind the jeep is too light for what it's towing, put it in 4WD. if the jeep is not a 4x4, my next question is who buys a jeep wrangler that is not 4x4???

That jeep is only rated to tow 2000 lbs. That's the issue.

Its because of the wheelbase, the same drive train in a Cherokee with the 4.0 is rated at 5000lbs, but if that jeep that looks pre TJ before a 97 could have the 2.5 which is only rated at 1000lbs?

The tow rating has nothing to do with a vehicle's ability to get up a slippery ramp.
