My theory: Micah's original plan was to get close to Dutch, then kill him and take his bounty, but he realised that he had better chances of survival if he just stayed with the gang. You can see that Micah wanted to be friends with Arthur, because he was powerful, but once Dutch went crazy and Arthur started to challenge him, Micah knew that Arthur would have to die in order for him to be ensured with survival. He saw Dutch's narcissistic delusions (which were progressively getting worse) as an opportunity to make himself closer to Dutch, so he took up the facade of a blindly loyal yes-man. When Arthur made Dutch angry, Micah was at risk of losing his new, easy (comparatively) life, that's why he hated him so much. Arthur becoming terminally ill was the perfect opportunity for Micah to kill him, but the fact that he didn't just shoot Arthur during their fight shows that, even while Arthur was on the brink of death, Micah still had the tiniest bit of respect for him, at least in the high honor endings.

And notice in the mission American Venom, Micah mentions he has some friends coming. The friends he refers are actually Pinkertons, as he was planning to turn Dutch to em. Pinkertons were planning to use Micah to kill the whole gang. When they found Micah dead, they realised they need a new guinea pig so they chose John.

Micah's chances of killing Dutch in the last of Arthur’s story are many..At the Mountain ,Arthur, Dutch, Micah, and Micah he did not get nervous when he heard the pinkerton, but looked at Dutch and begged him to run away and took the money and go with a boat..Dutch left him and did not shoot in the back of Dutch !! And in the cave his chance was when Dutch came and shot him or threw him with the knife on his back, but he did not, but begged and asked to leave with the boat! and entered the cave to retrieve the bag of money that Arthur took it..micah did not catch up dutch and kill him and show himself to Edgar Ross and the pinkerton.. and he boasts as we saw John He does it in the first part !! .. Micah is a prick most of the time, but I think he genuinely liked Arthur as a fighter. He's one of those edgy boys who try too hard to play the big guy, and surely he despised Arthur's way of handling his situation, but at the same time I think he respected him. When Micah was talking about how Arthur saved him. It looked like he was feeling regret for a moment. It's the first time out of the entire series where he felt regret, remembering he saved his life got shot afterwards and he's planning on messing him over. I replayed this game and I can already see the difference between Arthur at the beginning with blind loyalty to Dutch and the end with his faith in Dutch wavering as he slowly becomes more unhinged and having Micah as the devil in his shoulder But also him becoming closer to the people within the camp, when Sean died in his journal Arthur said he kind of like him. With Hosea as well Arthur said that he was a father figure to him. John, uncle, Abigail, Jack, Sadie, Charles, Lenny, Karen etc Arthur is the true absolute badass

@@kdanimations5573 I mean, I get it, his work ruins lives of Debtors and is Completely Dishonest. But I don't really get the whole "Honest Bandit" thing. Like, Arthur is a great guy (on a high honour playthrough) and Arthur is Certainly honest with himself and others. But Arthur is still going to be making alot of Widows, y'know? Even if you never kill a single innocent throughout the whole game (Which is harder than it sounds), Arthur is still going to be gunning down cops in Saint Denis, Shooting up half of Valentine to Rob a Bank, and Fighting the American Military. He's Honest about it, but the sheer amount of Corpses he's leaving behind is was more Destructive than the Debts Strauss issues. Strauss is certainly scummy in his Profession, there's no way I'll argue against that. But it's his job for the gang. It's a shitty job, and he clearly takes enjoyment in it, which is pretty bad, but his Work still provides for Dutch, and he's amiable to everyone else. Micah, is clearly not nice in any regard. (Yes, you COULD argue he has redeeming qualities, but still.) Strauss however is clearly invested in the Gang, refuses to give info to the Pinkerton's while they are torturing him, and will even save Javier's life on a mission, despite not being a fighter like Arthur, Javier, Charles, ect. So yeah, Strauss is pretty Scummy, but give him some credit guys. Don't lump him up with Micah.

Oh man, that first scene was actually a perfect moment to start a little beatdown. He always had Charles, John and Sadie ready to go. They could've had it at least as a cutscene, where Arthur uppercuts him and tells him to stfu and never get into his face like that again, then Micah gets up tries to punch him back but gets another hit instead. Then Joe jumps him, then Charles tackles Joe and beats him up. Cleet helps Micah up and then tries to kick Arthur while he's getting up, but Arthur blocks his kick and throws a nice hook and Micah punches him from the side and grabs him and throws another hook but Arthur blocks it and headbutts him. Then John throws a liverpunch and grabs Micah by his neck and chokes him from behind and Sadie jumps Cleet from the side and beats him up. Then Dutch comes in and separates John and Micah and tells everyone to stop and they get up and just look at each other. That would've been so awesome, especially seeing Arthur, John, Charles and Sadie strong on one side and Micah, Cleet and Joe all beat up on the other side lmfao Ah I bet if they were still alive, Sean, Lenny and even Kieran would back him up too, dammit... With Sean still alive, maybe Karen wouldn't lose herself then and would probably be standing with them in the final stand-off.

I honestly think Micah had some sort of admiration for Arthur in the beginning, but it was drowned out by jealousy. He wanted to be like Arthur because he knew Arthur was strong, and not just physically. Some people think it Arthur was cooler with Micah Micah would've ended up liking Arthur and becoming friends but Micah is the type that doesn't consider anyone a friend. He even said "there's no better look than one from a feller that you shoot when he thought you were his best friend". So even if you thought Micah was a great friend to you he would kill you no matter what

Dutch kept putting the gang in more danger, Micah turned into a fucking traitor, and the gang was falling apart, everybody was having doubts and fears and Arthur saw it coming he knew if he didn't step up everybody would die they would all get captured by the Pinkertons or law and literally die. The rest of the gang members that fled saved themselves from the fate of the group Dutch Van Der Linde was fooled by Micah Bell and in the end the gang paid the price
