Calling that object you're cutting out at 14:21 a "heater tube" is a left-handed compliment, at best. When I moved from Florida to Michigan 45 years ago, it was all the heater tube in my '67 VW Camper could do to defrost the front windows. Driver and passengers remained frozen!

Superb videos Mitch, very interesting and instructive, not at all tedious and slow moving like some other VW bus restorations on here ! I had one of these in the UK about 40 years ago, a 1959 camper complete with gas lighting inside. restored it myself on a shoestring budget and ran it as a daily driver, and had loads of adventures with her for MANY years. I paid just £18 for her and drove her 25 miles home completely illegally. Great memories. Best wishes from an old Yorkshire "Geezer" now in Ireland.

I have used one of those compressors at the fab shop I used to work at when I did welding. We used them for taking paint of rims and blasting big tractor trailer trailer frames before we painted them. Awesome.

Very impressive with the detailed work you are doing. I did my 1966 bus nine years ago and i wasn't quite as meticulous as you are. But my bus is beautiful just the same. I really enjoy your cinema-photography, keep at it, you will have so much to cherish when you are done. Rebuilding classic VW's is art. Sculpting metal.

Hey Mic, I am restoring my 69 panelvan, short story was bought by my parents in 94, for a road trip around australia, been siting at my cousins place for 20 years. We shipped the bus back from Perth australia to Nouméa New caledonia where I live. I'm working on the rust on my split, and was wandering what did you use at 8:04 is that some sort of aluminium filler ? thanks, keep up the great work you are a great guide in my restoration progress !

Soon as I saw you sandblasting inside the shop I thought o not that's not good. lol Sorry to be a bearer of bad news, but whoever sand blasted that van didn't do a thorough job initially before applying the rust inhibitor and the Bondo on the roof. Rule is to remove all rust before prepping anything. Your should mention that to Robert to see if he thinks the roof should be redone. Usually sand blast to remove every single bit of rust then weld then sandblast welded areas then Prep for Bondo and primer..
