I didn't realise I held my breaths and tensed up too often when you and your father were trying to stuff Kona inside the U-Haul as well as the entire road trip to California. After arriving at Robert's shop, I sighed a big relief! Your father has my full respect for being so dedicated and devoted to the restoration as you are. That part with Zack throwing the temper tantrum is so sweet! My friends with cats often reported that the cats could sense it when seeing a luggage to be packed. I look after the house and three cats for five days or so when my friend and his wife travelled aboard for holidays. His cats were depressed for a day or two then "adopted" me as their ersatz caretaker (because I feed them, cleaned their toilet, and petted them).

Dear Mitch, Live the videos on the vw bus never seen one getting restored. I also like that disability does not stop you from doing what you like to do. My dad is blind and is a computer programmer in Texas and make a dang goos living and is restoring 1963 3/4 ton chevy pick up. Props to you on your adventure to restoring a cool classic.

Amazing...! I bought my 1972 VW Camper in 1986 in San Francisco.. then moved to Los Angeles... I kept her for over 30 years... at times living in the bus for long periods of time.. 3 years ago I finally had to sell the bus ... and sold her for $4000 to a college professor that is deaf..

I admire your energy.....when I was young I did the same thing.....one three buses!! Boy, I must have been young! Anyway, keep going and you're going to have a wonderful bus when you're done. Oh yeah, I did a complete Beetle back in the day that I bought at a rummage sale for $30 with a blown engine. No rust at all....did a complete "frame off" restore down to the last nut/bolt....no frame, of course....floor pan would be more appropriate. Then found a 1600 dual port that I rebuilt with oversize pistons/etc. Wish I would have never sold....sigh.....P.S. Your girl is a sweetheart.....better keep that one!

What a great segment. Felt like I rode with you all the way down from Washington to Robert's shop. I'm also a VW person, with a 2018 Passat SE with technology package, and a 2018 Golf Sportwagen. I've also had everything from a '64 Beetle to a 2004 Jetta TDI, 2013 Passat SEL TDI, and a 2013 Beetle R-Line before these two 2018 "children". Pretty cool idea with the Uhaul truck. I would never have thought of that. A set of rims with no tires would make it shorter. I bought a 62 11 window a while back. Eventually it will get restored on my KZbin channel. Good work!
