Sylvester Stallone movies is one my top greatest movies because it represents life struggles , fears, traumas and the goal of fighting through it especially by holding on to values such as family and team work and respect and love for one another. It teaches how pride, jealousy fear , greed etc get in the of success and it shows how these bad things can destroy relationships, your soul and your life. It's teaches importance of helping each other. It teaches how succès has nothing to do with money or possession. Rocky touched upon all these subjects & more in all his movies. He achieved this all the while keeping his character humble & thoughtful. He even emphasized importantance of having a personal pray life but also asking others for prayer represented by each time Rocky went to the Priest asking for a blessing. He touched upon how scammers exist & we need to watch out for those who act like friend but don't really care about you & want to steal from you so you must remain vigilant. So much in one of his movies & the series all together could be use in a school to teach about life.Thank you Sylvester Stallone for one of the greatest movie series that represent life. Rocky's character could see all that even while being punchy lol. So what's wrong with those who got all there faculties and are so blind. I love all the movies. I find them inspirational. Creed 3 did need to establish a new era, but It did pay homage to Rocky in the Hollywood sign scene. Also, look closely. There is a little of the Rock sprinkle throughout the movie. This story was about the Creed family. About his father. The other man of inspiration to the main character's life. This is needed to build up the story arch. Without it, it would be just dragging Creed 2 storyline into the next movie. Rocky, mostly loved, his story has come to the end. They tried to tell us at the end of Rocky Babola movie. The character of Rocky faded out at the end of the movie. Gracefully. I was pleasantly surprised to see they integrate him in the other movies. For some reason Rocky's relationship with his son got strained yet again even though Rocky Balboa showed them mending their fences. Since they decided to go that route in Creed, I actually think the greatest ending you could give him was the scene we got where he got to meet his grandson. Since there is a timeskip in this movie, I think the best move would have been to either say he's now living his remaining days with his son's family, or what I would have done is say that he died peacefully in his sleep in-between the timeskip. Let's get real, Rocky's greatest ability in boxing was that he was able to get beaten up to the point where he had permanent brain damage and still managed to keep fighting longer than any boxer would reasonably be able to. Yes he was able to beat cancer, yet his body has gone through such hardships, he's aware that he's not going to become an old man. A big reason why Rocky during their first conversation says to Donnie that he doesn't understand why he would choose that life when he clearly got brains and an education. What more could you really ask of the character? You've seen him live a full, very messy and complicated life with a lot of ups and downs. Something you usually don't get with characters like that who usually just remain static or always have an upward trajectory, maybe a small humbling but by the end of the movie still working their way up. It also gives them the license to go slightly darker in a natural way.

The second will be shit and the whole legacy will die there. It's too bad they really screwed creed 3 up as Jordan had just really owned the character.

I haven’t seen any of the Creed movies. Everyone tells me, including my children, that they are good. I believe them. When they ask me why I haven’t seen any of them, I tell them a version of, Rocky was my era, Creed is yours. No cap whatsoever. Plus, and most importantly, I’m in a place in life where the genre no longer appeals to me. Still, I always wished Creed had more in the original franchise. It felt like his storyline ended to soon. So I’m glad for the Creed franchise being so well received . Anyway, I hope they reconcile this somehow because the legacy of the franchise is bigger than the sum of its parts.

I haven't had the chance to watch Creed III as it was out of theatres really quick here in India, so I'm just eagerly waiting for the streaming release. It's unfortunate that Sylvester and the producer had a falling out. If Rocky was intended to be a part of this story, then needless to say it's a damn tragedy that this altercation ended that possibility. That being said, I actually like the idea of Rocky not being a big part of Creed's third flick, because it's my belief that the next big journey of character evolution for Adonis should be going out on his own and thriving, and essentially doing so WITHOUT the presence of his mentor and someone as big a personality as Rocky. I sincerely believe that advancement in this direction would be highly suitable for a character like Adonis, somebody who grew up without a father figure and still turned out to be a tough, responsible and also a somewhat caring personality. His ruthlessly tough attitude was obviously a result of his initial environment and his biological heritage - genes he inherited from Apollo. His other defining traits, that results in him also adopting a responsible, individualistic and a somewhat caring nature is clearly due to his stepmother, who herself displayed these characteristics through her righteous actions. These somewhat similar circumstances of moving forward on his own as an adult, as he had to for most of his childhood result in an uncanny mirroring of his situation except he has better chance of redirecting this situation in his favor due to the various tools he now has at his disposal which are simply his skills and strong mindset that he has so painfully acquired by paying his dues. This would result in an emotionally satisfying full circle moment for him, fuelling his confidence to a herculean level. A sheer wave of undying self belief fuelled by reflection on his journey, knowing that unlike in the early childhood, in the early adulthood he had someone like Rocky to guide him in the beginning of his career in the big leagues. Besides this will beyond doubt add to the legacy of the person whose shadow looms large all over this acclaimed franchise, Rocky himself doing so by essentially demonstrating that the his mentorship was sufficient for Adonis to evolve into this even sterner and adaptable individual than before, someone who moulds himself to more grim and harder circumstances when the situation calls for it. Needless to say that this progression also boosts rocky's confidence and self belief in a key manner. Standing as a huge testament to the efficiency and criticality of his guidance, which was, albeit temporary, but fundamental for Adonis to be what he is. In a nutshell, a brief interaction between the two, or, just rocky doing something in the mid-credits or the post-credit scene would have sufficed for this movie. This would have actually tied well with the continuity of the series, because I heard some time back that Sylvester was developing a 7th and final rocky movie in which he was supposed to help a young illegal immigrant who's stuck in the country, navigating him/her both as a trainer and a reluctant guardian. They could have added some prelude to that movie in the post credits of this one. Well, that's it, my humble opinion on this whole issue. I'm a longtime fan of these characters. All of them - Apollo, Mickey, Adrian, Mary Anne, Clubber Lang, Ivan, Viktor, Adonis, Paulie, Badass bald dude who was Apollo's trainer and a sort of father figure (forgot his name!) and of course, ROCKY, who is one of the most inspiring, legendary and 'Electrifying' characters to be ever written and portrayed in the Film media. I know it's a lengthy & unusually long comment so thanks to anyone who actually reads the whole thing. Haha. The reason for me writing so much about this is the simple fact that these fictional figures and these movies are extremely near and dear to my heart. I'm 26 currently and have been watching Rocky since I was 10. So providing a cohesive and detailed opinion about all this was somewhat essential on my part.

Update : I watched CREED 3. It was BADASSSS💯🕺💪. Jonathan Majors knocked it out the damn park🫡. Guy was born to play an antihero. Also, it's actually amazing all the antagonists in Creed movies have been some sort of tragic antiheroes more than villains. It's actually a very realistic characteristic of creed movies that was sometimes not present in Rocky movies i.e. Clubber Lang and Tommy Gunn. Don't get me wrong these were amazing characters, especially Mr.T. They were not two dimensional but they were very outright evil. Creed movies actually improve on this particular aspect, but now I think it's time to actually put in a character like that, someone who is truly a definitive bad guy. Someone with no qualms about deploying extremely unethical tactics, someone bulkier, larger, cunning and exponentially chaotic. This would be an interesting turn of events going ahead; And needless to say that the next one should absolutely have ROCKY IN IT! No argument about it, Rocky should be there to provide critical guidance and I would actually like it more if it cuts down everything else and heavily focuses on Rocky and Adonis's relationship & their game plan with less of Bianca, creed's daughter and rocky's family. They're amazing characters too but it'll be some next level hard-core strategic fight movie if they go this way and I believe that's what the next chapter should be for Adonis. Also! Rocky should have been present at Mary Anne's funeral, like c'mon! They knew each other for a long time, it felt extremely odd that Rocky wasn't there and they didn't address his absence in any way. A damn tragedy👎. At least rocky's son should have been at that scene. Anyway, all in all it was a nice experience. A solid 4/5. I'd rate it more if Rocky had a role in it and no it's not some blind necessity for me to have Rocky there but the way the story moved it only felt natural to include him, at least for the funeral scene. Here's hoping for a bright future for this amazing franchise!! 💯✅🫡

Creed III was still a ROCKY movie. Just like in the martial arts philosophy, "When the student is truly ready, his master will disappear". Just like Rocky in I, II, and III, Rocky still wasn't ready to be his own. That is why Micky and Apollo were there for him. It wasn't until IV that he found the way to climb the mountain top on his own (peep the metaphor). Creed III is the same for Adonis. It was his turn to climb his own mountain but just in a different perspective of life. Rocky knew Adonis can hold his own. That is why there was no need for Rocky to stop spending time with his granddaughter.

The Rocky franchise is better. It's an inspirational story of the underdog going for his shot with the world stacked against him. Adonis Creed is a rich kid who grew up in a mansion and worked a white collar job. Rocky fought because he had too. Adonis fights because he wants to. Rocky's characters are memorable and have personalities. Creed's characters do not. I can remember all Rocky's opponents: Apollo Creed in Rocky I & II. Clubber Lang in Rocky 3, The Russian guy in Rocky IV. " If he dies, he dies." Tommy in Rocky V. Don't remember the opponent in Rocky Balboa because boxers began to lack personality in the 21st century but I loved the movie and it's a must watch for entitled millennials. Yet, disrespecting their predecessors and mocking the past is what this generation loves to do so of course Creed is better to them than Rocky. In their minds, everything in the past was bad until their generation creates a remake or reboot of it.
