I didn’t know you were invited to this party. Michael: I wasn’t. Which is why I’m wearing this “clever” disguise. [Short pause] Michael: You’re speechless. SQUIP got your tongue? Jeremy: No- no it’s off. Michael: That would explain why you’re talking to me. I was thinking about this moment, what I was gonna say to you. I had this really pissed off monologue. An epic journey through twelve years of friendship. [Short pause] Michael: What? Jeremy: Y’know its ju- it’s just really great to see you, man. Michael: Well it won’t be. When you hear what I found out. Jeremy: Found out? Michael: About… [MICHAEL points at his own forehead] Jeremy: How? There’s nothing on the internet abou- Michael, interrupting Jeremy: Which is weird, right!? I mean, what’s not on the internet? So I started asking around. And finally, this guy I play Warcraft with, told me his brother went from a straight “D” student, to a freshman at Harvard. Y’know where he is now? Jeremy: Really happy and successful? Michael: He’s in a mental hospital. Totally lost it. Jeremy: I- I don’t see what that has to do with my SQUIP… Michael, overlapping Jeremy at “my SQUIP”: Think man! We’re talking an insanely powerful supercomputer you think it primary function is to get you laid? Who made them? How did they end up in a high school? In New Jersey!? Of all possible applications for such a mind-blowingly advanced technology, you ever wonder what it’s doing inside you? [Short pause] Jeremy: And I thought Chloe was jealous. Michael: I’m honestly asking! Jeremy: Oh really? Michael: Yeah! Jeremy: ‘Cuz I think, you’re just upset that I have one and you don’t. Michael: C’mon. Jeremy: Maybe I got lucky, alright! Is that so weird? With my history, I would say that the universe owed me one. And look I don’t know about your friend’s brother’s whatever. But if you tell me this is what made him crazy- Michael: The SQUIP didn’t make him crazy. Jeremy: Alright there you go! Michael: He went crazy trying to get it out! [Long pause] Jeremy: Well then, I got nothing to worry about. Why would I want it out? [JEREMY begins to walk away] [MICHAEL blocks the door, preventing JEREMY from leaving] Jeremy: C’mon man, move it. Michael: Or you’ll what? Jeremy, cold and unfeeling: Get out of my way, loser. ohhhh my god I love so much about this?? Jeremy freaking the heck out when Michael grabs him, the ear of Michael's mask falling off (that's a really nice detail), Jeremy's very gentle soft look at "it's really good to see you, man", the two of them breathing heavily after yelling, Jeremy's expression slowly getting angrier, and Michael's face just?? falling?? at "loser"?? the expressions in this are fantastic, I love it so much!!

So... What if when Rich sets fire to the house after the party Michael was still in the bathroom and he had to be pulled out of the house because he couldn't care enough to get out on his own because he was so depressed and felt so unimportant that he actually didn't give a fuck if he died eaten by the flames since no one would care about him anymore as he had lost the only person he had by his side and at that moment the only thing he wanted to do was disappear? Just think about it... imagine him walking slowly, stumbling. Someone pulling his arm and shouting at him to get out and he'd just be like: Whatever, no one cares anymore. I'm just a loser anyways. And the other would answer that it's just the alcohol talking. But it's not. Because his 2nd player has left him alone and he doesn't have enough strength in him to pass the level on his own and that's just how he feels. And somehow he finds his way back home and can't even cry anymore so he just falls asleep or gets high on pot because he doesn't want to feel anything at all and just whishes he had stayed in that house and burned with it. I'm sorry.
