Yes sir!! They were some bad asses! I love every minute of this performance. It shows why they went on to become one if the best groups in the history of popular music, and of course, Michael became the Superstar King of Pop. It still breaks my heart how his life ended, but he was a beautiful person inside and out.

Possibly lost in the adulation of Michael's voice, dance moves, and stage presence is the fact that Jermaine is a damn good bassist!!

+Alaric Keller Tito wasn't bad either.
@luv2watch328 жыл бұрын
+Alaric Keller ....and Jermaine was only 17 in that year! Here's where you are incorrect though....Jermaine was no where near lost under the adulation of Michael. As a matter of fact, Jermaine was THEE man back in the day! He was every woman's hearthrob - fit, fine, fabulous with a big afro and all of us teeny bopping girls melted when he sang! And when he opened his mouth to sing "I Found That Girl" the panties flew...lol! Jermaine is an exceptional, underrated musician as well as Tito. Jermaine had to learn Motown's master of bass guitar James Jamerson's guitar licks and tricks on that bass and he did it!

I saw a show from this tour in Chicago when I was four years old! (And I vividly remember being pissed off when my father loaned our one set of binoculars to some strangers in the row behind us for a few minutes. lol) That concert set me up to be a Michael Jackson fan FOR LIFE. We moved to LA in '74 and I saw the Triumph show at the Forum in '81, the Victory show twice at Dodger Stadium (had front row center seats for one of the shows and I still have the shirt that MJ ripped off of Randy and threw into the crowd), and the last two dates of the Bad tour (that I flew home from college in Tennessee to see).... And then I somehow found myself at Neverland for 5 days in 2002. I was SO lucky - because I got to see MJ be a normal dad to his kids. Most fun I will EVER have as an adult happened during those 5 days. I'll never get over his loss. Never. I simply don't remember a time that MJ didn't seem to be a part of my life and I will miss him FOREVER.

Wow I saw this show in Greenboro,NC when I was 8 and visiting my grandmother for the summer.My mom came down from Falls Church VA to take me.I screamed my little head off!Then when I was 11 in Falls Church my mom got me out of school because (The Jacksons) were at RFK stadium in Washington DC playing on the 50yard line.Me and another girl started a stampede toward the stage from the bleachers!Then we moved to the Bay Area,CA when I was 12 and next I saw the Victory tour in LA when I was about 17.My last time seeing MJ was the BAD tour.He canceled where I was originally supposed to see him so I flew x country to Chicago with NO TICKET and wound up in the 8th row center out of sheer luck and GOD's blessing!I didn't get to go to Neverland but I talked to MJ many times on the phone because my bowling league teammate was married to Nick Caldwell of the Whispers!You must be the only person I have ever heard of that had the rich MJ experience like I did!I have the new Xscape cd and I still cry to this day!He was also the soundrack of my life!
@willovercome387410 жыл бұрын
TRACEWORLD2 It's a blessing and a curse, isn't it? I mean, it's wonderful to have had all of those experiences, but having been blessed in a way that so many MJ fans weren't (some just from being too young) makes his loss that much harder to take. I was working on the BET Awards (which took place three days after he passed) in the Shrine Auditorium (where he won all of the Grammys and AMAs in '84) and we could feel his presence in there - so much that I burst into tears the first time I had to refer to him in the past tense in that building. That was one tough week :-(

Berry Gordy has said in numerous interviews that when the group signed to Motown that they were already a professional act and only needed to be promoted with the right songs. Their acts were way more elaborate pre Motown era and were scaled down when they signed to Motown which makes you wonder how talented these guys were. Their Father who has been vilified deserves credit for getting these guys ready for the spotlight.

Michael was one of the boys to feed his family, he was not the only one on the stage. Joe jackson had all his men working, look at jackie and marlon working it out on that stage and the music is coming from the tito and jermaine. Michael was one of the mighty jackson five. They were all great thanks to Joe.

Incredible footage,the poise and musicianship of Tito & Jermaine who were playing live and get no credit but the choreography is completely off the hook & Michael at maybe 12-13,no fear of large crowds going crazy and notice the ages of the women in the crowd,those r grown women checking them.Usually their cousin was the drummer,not sure on this one but the Walk On By intro was sick,just ahead of their time..Salute the J5
@mcclendonreport11 жыл бұрын
Yes, that is Johnny Jackson on drums and Roderick Rancifer on organ. Neither were related to the Jacksons. But your comments were spot on. I witnessed these concerts as a youngster and Tito and Jermaine were the real deal; no backing tracks; no extra sidemen guitarists to back them up. It was all them. And, yes this choreography was far superior to those hired hands MJ used later in life. Marlon and Jackie could outdance every dancer Mike ever hired.
