You can never deny that Michael Jackson’s one of the greatest Vocalists of all time that has created his own style nobody could ever imitate. He’s practiced it 45 out of his short 50 years of Life he have had. The greatest of all time. I think you gotta react to his vocal training with Seth Riggs of 1995 to dive more into his vocal range. He was amazing. He did trained it regularly. Michael has rarely lip synced until his HIStory Tour when he got older and suffered from laryngitis. Maybe y’all gotta check out I just can’t stop loving you and human nature from the this is it rehearsal. You can clearly see him singing his high notes and sound exactly like he sounds on the record 30 years prior.

thanks for your comment, Seth Riggs does not understand how to teach pure belle canto. H e uses expanded sound which should be part of correct vocal production but his approach is incorrect. He requitres that the jaw be forced down when in fact expanded sound does not require this as the inside of your mouth should be expanded upward {the soft palate} and outward, the left and right sides of the insides of the mouth. Check out Cesar Vallettis' video recording (1949) of Una Firtiva Lagrima. Although he does not sing pure belle canto but he does sing more correctly than most. Pure belle canto does not produce opera but freely produced sound when intellectually approached can be modified in different styles. I encourage you to visit our website purebellecanto.com and take our vocal course.you can ask questions by emailing me at moyerdg1950@gmail.com or texting at 760-445-9043. It’s the worst vocal coach reaction on MJ I’ve seen so far. Maybe you should research Michael more before sharing your so called expert opinion. 1. Michael’s voice did not change significantly from Thriller era till his death. Neither did his vocal range. There are only two significant changes in his voice between childhood and adult voice 2. His adult vocal range was wider than his childhood vocal range. He naturally lost upper notes as he descended from boy soprano to tenor, but he gained more notes in the lower register. Overall, his vocal range spanned 3.5-4 octaves. 3. He still could hit high notes at the age of 50, right before he passed away. Check out rehearsals for This is It in particular the Human Nature, the ending of I just can’t stop loving you and don’t stop till you get enough. How did he manage to preserve his voice if his technique was so unhealthy? 4. You said he did a lot of things right in terms of technique. How about mentioning those things? Do you call it an unbiased analysis?

hmmm this is a unique singing style that he developed it´s not wrong or right. he crafted a specific tone that delivered the emotion and appealed to the audience. the way he sang is maybe the wrong technique but it doesn´t sound bad at all. and that´s why nobody can sing like him and he is a unique voice. He himself said, a vocal coach admitted, that he thought of himself as an average singer. but I would reconsider what that way of thinking motivates you to do. if he thought of himself like he needed to learn new stuff all the time well that's why he did so many styles, and changed his singing approaches . he wrote in his assertion list when creating bad album: I will sing totally different than before , I will have a new style, new dance, now sound, I will surprise everyone by being unexpected - than he turned Bad . and from the first song bad, we hear something impressive. the vocals are maybe produced by painful technique but it´s not about that. you do what you have to do for art

bottom line is he might have used a difficult and demanding and often unhealthy singing technique, but who cares, that's what made him a unique voice that only he could do. and its all about the art and sacrifice, not if you sing properly that everyone else does. that´s why he is an artist a creator.

Fun fact about his vocals, his voice was known to have been in struggle from 93 on to his death, he often used a backing track due to bad singing techniques and performing in cold climates for tours. Michael on his albums would end up singing two cadences of the same notes from the history album on. However, it's hard to sing and dance at the same time!
@thezeddhotel3 жыл бұрын
Another fun fact; Michael used autotune for the 30th anniversary concert in 2001 as he was notoriously late to the concert and was pretty high on the pain medication for his back injury from 1999 when a 50 foot bridge collapsed while Michael stood at the top during earth song. Michael had to be woken up by his show producers and got to MSG an hour late and was super high. He played it off though. The invincible album was meant to have autotune as it was the first full digitized album he created. The autotune was heavily used on that album due to a low key nodule that he eventually had removed in 2002 as per his doctor's. This nodule affected his voice from 1990 to 2002, he probably had more but those are disclosed. Michael was notorious for lip syncing for his concerts in the 90s and fun fact, as Michael's voice was affected by this nodule, he began to write songs in a cadence using the same two notes for the first verses of his songs and another cadence afterwards hints Jam, TDCAU, Scream, Superfly Sister, Tabloid Junkie, TS, Blood on the dancefloor, Dangerous, HIStory and much much more.

@TheVoiceDoctor19717 ай бұрын
If you do not understand how to produce a healthy vocal sound then any singer that emotionally moves you, you regard as a “ phenomenon “. Michael Jackson was truly a great performer. The vocal sound that he “ manufactured” rather than trained with a healthy vocal method began to take its toll on his voice between his age of 45 years to his passing. Having won a full scholarship as the winner of The Spokane Arts Festival and being chosen as a vocalist out of 600,000 auditions to be a member of Fred Warings Pennsylvanians brings me to this statement: Michael was a professional dancer, singer and actor but much like Adele, he did not understand the proper vocal approach for health and longevity. Just because people like his sound doesn’t mean it’s the best sound for him to produce.

I just saw your comment and I sure do appreciate your honesty. Michael Jackson sang with an engaging style and in order to do that it required for him to use excessive compression. I have been to the team of Doctors in LA that have done surgeries for many singers. In my studies I have discovered that Michael was having trouble with his voice in his late forties. Because of my over 50 years of indepth study I can make this observation. he used excessive ocmpression on multiple occassions and over time that will damage your vocal bands with vocal polyps, nodules ,and contact ulcers(sometimes bleeding). Most of these symptoms require surgery to repair them and the fact is, a surgical reapair will almost always allow the singer to perform again, the original sound has been altered even if that is slightly.
