This song is so underrated. It's so creative to write a song about getting a speeding ticket. Plus, the baseline of this song is insane. I love the groove of this song. It's is so infectious! I love the diction and syncopation of how he sings the chorus and the uniform tones with almost no vibrato.

OH MY GOSH! These breakdowns make you appreciate the songs even more! There's something about isolating MJ multitracks that makes you want to own them so you can enjoy them separately from the final mix. I wish this was possible. THERE IS SO MUCH WE DON'T HEAR WHEN EVERYTHING IS MIXED TOGETHER. So much is drowned in the noise. That's what makes your videos so delightful. Thank you Chris! I remember being fascinated with Speed Demon after first seeing Moonwalker as a toddler in like 90 or 91 (born in late 80’s). When watching the video thousands of times as a kid, I never noticed all the beatboxing and the different instruments like the bass until I heard the song on cassette. Then heard the whole song again on CD like around 2001. It was mind blowing! Everything was a little bit more clearer to me.

An analysis beautifully done! Loved to see all those little details :3 This made me think all over again that, some people just don’t realize how free, expert and how much ability he had on his voice, like there still who think he was not that great because he would reach some more “virtuous” tone or wouldn’t hold long notes (which he did but not all the time), but they don’t get how hard is to be this agile! Like he could do many many things with his voice, impressive and almost impossible things (for the years of experience and practice) but in such a short time that they don’t hear them, and that’s even harder! But thankfully we had this kind of videos whether this things can be talked about ✨

Thank you, thank you, thaaank you for doing this!!! This is definitely one of my favorite MJ song’s and it’s parte of an album that was so unfairly underrated at its time! Like they literally called it “the worst album of the year” Now is more appreciated but still just the “mainstream songs” (which are incredible), but the whole album is so well done! Honestly, was the reason why I became such a fangirl of his and then I started to appreciate (and then love) music even more I own this album a lot 😅✨

@lamiadingle20117 ай бұрын
YO! I keep saying this! Michael always wanted to do films, but he honestly wasn't the best "actor". He was a performer and music was his trigger. He was, at best, a character actor who needed to hide behind a costume like in The Wiz. But to your point, he really could have been an AMAZING voice actor. He would play phone pranks on people all the time doing that. You are spot on!!

Great to see this video, Chris! I became a fan of the song when i saw Moonwalker at the cinema as a child. Couldn't appreciate all the dynamic elements of it until the 2001 remaster, but it's one of MJ's most impressive compositions. It blends pop, rock, soul, Funk, Jazz and blues into one and the vocal performance accentuates this. The bridge is very impressive but I think the higher harmony on the first part of it is even more so, since it shows how strong and high he can go. Best head voice performance since Don't Stop Til You Get Enough, I'd say. This song is actually a very similar composition to Bad (and even the short film has the same wardrobe and transitions after it on Moonwalker) so it's strange how critics say its filler! 🐰 🛵 🕺🏾
