Michael Jai White gave his list of the top five fighters of all time across all disciplines. The list, in no particular order, starts with Jon Jones, the former two-time Light Heavyweight Champion from UFC. Next up was Hicks and Gracie, regarded as one of the most complete fighters in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The actor then chose to add another Gracie to the list, Royce Gracie, even going to the extent of suggesting that Royce himself would put Hicks and Gracie first. The fourth pick was Joe Louis, not the legendary heavyweight boxer, but the martial artist known for his dominance. The list also includes Bill 'Super Foot' Wallace, who is one of Michael Jai White's martial arts instructors. He also mentioned Floyd 'Money' Mayweather from the world of boxing, stating that in terms of boxing skills, no one has been better than Mayweather.

For kickboxing, a lot of people also mention Benny the Jet and Bill Super foot in the greatest kickboxer debate. Ali is also widely mentioned in the greatest boxer discussion. Joe Lewis was widely regarded as the greatest karate fighter, but Blanks is highly decorated and captained the U.S karate team to numerous gold medals. A lot of people also mention Fedor and Anderson Silva in MMA greatest fighter debate. Roger Gracie and Gordon Ryan are also mentioned by many in the greatest jujitsu/submission fighter conversation. Can't overlook Chuck Norris though. He fought Joe Lewis 4 times in karate matches and won 3 times. I can't think of a legendary Muay Thai fighter off my head right now.

Interesting list by MJW. I like that he mentioned Joe Lewis. That man is a legend yet so underrated. I would disagree about Ali and body punching though. He landed plenty against Terrell, Bugner, Wepner, Young, Jones, Banks, Liston etc. Every decent let alone great boxer managed to land every type of punch at some point in their careers. In order for someone to create a style of their own which includes and excludes certain techniques, they must first know what suits them best and make adjustments. That's why sometimes they'll abandon their usual style and approach for a few moments to throw their opponent off. We've seen Ali do it on numerous occasions. Mayweather too.

Without Joe Louis there is nobody, he is literally your favourite fighter’s favourite fighter . All the old time trainers call Joe Louis the old timer. He is the daddy and idol for all those all time great fighters you name them, Liston, Ray Robinson, Charles, Marciano etc without him there wouldn’t be anyone . Sure there was Dempsey and Johnson, but they didn’t come close to what Joe Louis was. I’m not even gonna get into the killing machine of a fighter he was that nobody could touch for over a decade longest reigning champion . It all started with Joe Louis.

Also Ali didn’t throw body punches, he was a pure boxer not a puncher. Only time he did when the guy would have his guard all the way up he had no choice but to jab to the body. Other than those taps to the body he wasn’t a body puncher.

@@jawbreaker8363 He wasn't a typical body puncher as he wasn't a short range fighter or a swarmer, focusing on the inside game. He went to the body when it seemed reasonable, even when the guard of his opponents wasn't that high. He was fast and had impeccable timing. He could also punch through his target, which is why no matter how well they protected their heads and bodies, they still got scored on.

I respect Michael Jai White. He is the real deal, trains and knows combat sports, especially kick boxing and MMA, but when it comes to boxing, he left out Sugar Ray Robinson, Henry Armstrong, Ezzard Charles, Pernell Whitaker, Salvador Sanchez and so many more that could be ranked higher than Floyd Mayweather, lb for lb. Floyd is up there, and this is up for debate, but boxing history is replete with tremendous fighters that have DEEP resumes, possessed the ability to handle multiple boxing styles and scaled the weight classes. Too much in contemporary times is focused on being undefeated, however, many great fighters of the past have losses because they didn't have the luxury of careful match making and they fought more "competitively often" than modern fighters.

MJW has a Kyokushin record. Other than his fight against Wong Jack Man in the mid 60s and his gang fights as a teen in Hong Kong, Bruce Lee said he only fought random people who would challenge him after becoming famous.
