What gets me is how often he'll shoot *right* away, like the same split second he gets the ball, takes a shot in place after framing himself / getting the right angle to face the basket, firing the thing and it's perfect. And sometimes it's juuuuust off enough to look like a hard/awkward shot. I know a highlight video isn't always going to show misses, so sometimes it doesn't work out, but the sheer volume of shots that would look like they'd suck to take that he bangs off perfectly means he knew exactly what he wanted to do.

What separates MJ from everyone else is how he fused his tremendous physical gifts with the efficiency he was taught at North Carolina by Coach Dean Smith. No wasted motion. No excess dribbling. The thing about the truly great players is, sometimes they beat you with the jab. If MJ had the fadeaway going, you got that all night. No need to play around with anything else. He was so great because he distilled the game down to simple terms...take high quality shots, play at 100%, and limit mistakes. No one has done it better.

Michael Jordan has no wasted movements in his basketball game. I notice other players having to take extra dribbles or make extra moves to create space to get there shot off, but mike movements was based on a specific purpose. Also, even when the play broke down he was the master of broken rythm because he could create something in mid air and serve you something you had never seen before, So dont get the brotha started because he was nice like that for real.

jordan haters love to point to this series as an example of the 'overrated' 90s defense. it's true this was not a very physical series, but the suns were built like a modern team and played like one -- no true center, fast pace, high volume of threes for the time. and jordan averaged 41-8.5-6.3 for the series without the benefit of modern spacing, stricter defensive rules, and lax traveling rules. he averaged those numbers in the nba finals. that's why when former players say jordan would have averaged 40 points in today's game, they're not kidding.

He was so good, that you can say that about almost any year. I have literally hard an argument why almost every year was his prime or best year, just about at least. I agree this was an AMAZING year. MJ was just SO UNBELIEVABLE that it's hard to even put into works, and no exaggeration either. I wish a was slightly older so I could have seen more of his career, the earlier parts, as I was not born for most of the 80s. I got to see a bit of the 2nd 3 peat when I was a very little kid.

exactly, when the narrative Magic Johnson uttered was, "How can Lebron James stop Jason Terry!" ??????? That's like in Michael Jordan's prime the narrative read before the game how can Michael Jordan stop Cliff Robinson? Lebron in inconsistent with his killer mentality. The players are living like Gods now, I mean Lebron comes to a Lakers game sipping on a glass of wine? They aren't hungry anymore.

@jamessalomon11964 жыл бұрын
@@ycf922 Jordan would average 45+ against the Warriors' cupcake defense with no hand checking and no interior defense. The ONLY way to stop MJ from getting to the rim was with a dominant defensive center and physical team defense, which the Warriors don't have. That same Warriors team was down 3-1 to the Durant-Westbrook Thunder in the Western Conference Finals. The 2017-2018 Warriors with Kevin Durant were MUCH better than the 2016 Warriors who choked. 73 wins means nothing if you choke and lose at the end. Jordan would never get down 3-1 to those losers in the first place...the '96 Bulls would either SWEEP THEM or beat them in 5. I watched every nationally televised Bulls game from 1989 to 1998 and beyond, and watched Jordan play in his prime 6 times in person. I already know I'm 100% right. There's literally nothing Lebron does that Jordan couldn't do just as well or better. Lebron plays in the worst defensive era since the 1940s so all of his stats are INFLATED, while Jordan played in the toughest defensive era ever so his stats all mean more. The NBA changed the defensive rules in 2001 and 2004 to make it easier to score to improve ratings after Jordan retired. All of the offensive stats now are inflated, and even Luka Doncic said it's easier to score in the NBA than in Europe. Nobody said that in the '90s. You never watched Jordan play and know nothing about his career, while I'm an expert on the last 3 decades of NBA history.

I personally think this was peak Jordan. He still has an unstoppable pure quickness and 1st step from his youth but matured and wiser overall game. No weaknesses inside or out. Glimpses of older Jordan’s game management. Ridiculous defender. I still think the Bulls could’ve won 8 straight if he hadn’t retired. With all due respect to the The Rockets - they would’ve had Pippen and Jordan lock down double team on Olajuwon. The three ball wasn’t a killer back in the 90s like it is today. So yeah...Bulls 8 straight.

@MJ23HAF Could you please remake these videos, and include Barkley's highlights, because he scored 49 points. (How can people persist to exclude the competition in their videos?) Hero needs a villian when competing. This is vital CONTEXT. Many young kids have the erroneous belief that Jordan did NOT face tough competition, because they see highlights without any OPPOSITION in KZbin videos! eSPECIALLY since Phoenix were the TOP OFFENSIVE TEAM, and NOT a defensive team. Their strength was in their powerful offense. ALL-STARS Kevin Johnson, Dan Majerle, Danny Ainge, Tom Chambers and Charles Barkley, plus Richard Dumas were a SUPER TEAM...that Jordan almost single-handedly DEFEATED! If you truly honor and respect Jordan, you need to include vital footage of his tough competition, to give CONTEXT to his legend and legacy.

I just wanna say this series is proof as to how good Chuck really was. If you look at this Suns roster, they have NO ONE who could keep MJ from averaging 40 like he did. He avg 30 on the best defenders and this team doesn’t have any of those guys, plus no rim protection. It doesn’t even shock me that he put up those numbers. But for Barkley to lead his team and force this series to 6 with those kind of odds against him is crazy. Took an L but he was imo the best player MJ faced in the finals and one of the underrated 🐐s of the 90s.

Yeah I agree, Barkley was the MVP for a reason and you right about that sun's team, they were good, but honestly didn't have the defenders to stop Mike at all..it really is a true testament of how good Barkley was to lead that team..such a shame he ran into Mike in those finals..
