4:50 Right and we don't talk about Michael Jordan being the greatest layup artist in basketball's long history. We give MJ the credit for arguably being the greatest dunker (both in-game and all-star contest), and we give MJ the distinction of being the greatest mid-range jumpshooter ever. But MJ's layup package is borderline Globetrotter without the traveling violations.

@@TheRealMindCrimebro it's practically impossible to watch. Fast break is now run to the 3 point line instead of going to the hoop. I have never seen so many big men get an offensive rebound and not even look to go back up, but pass it out to someone standing behind the line to attempt a 3. The fouls that are called sometimes are a joke.

I saw a scientist explaining MJs hang time and he pointed out that after MJ hit his apex, and was starting to come back down, he would stretch his back and in doing so kept his head at around the same level as his apex so it gave the appearance that he was defying gravity and getting his signature hang time. Obviously the man could leap but the video explained his insane hang time. Science is fun.

What body control. It never gets old! He just smiles after he gets whacked, just hooping. Because Bird and Laimbeer on on the same stratosphere in athleticism Laimbeer was able to play dangerously dirty against bird, Jordan’s inhuman hops and body control gave him more say about what level of danger he’s in. English is spin. :P

it's just how it was back then. You get hacked then the hacker makes sure you're good and we knew it wasn't personal. I’ve watched basketball up to 2003. The reason was that’s when to many rules, taking away hard fouls, tough defense, and hand checking to put more points on the board. Still no one can put numbers up like MJ all around. Not just the true goat, but compile analytics and MJ was and is still on another level based on today’s analytics. If Jordan played in this era my oh my he’d average at least 45-50 points per game. Jordan downfall was always motivation. Meaning he was pretty much going through the motions. It wasn’t until someone said something or did something that it made it personal for him and he’d go off or do something ridiculously unbelievably breathtaking.

I have to quote NNB Sports for this observation I remember: A lot of players dunking are often already there, they jump up and dunk. A simple watching of MJ shows you he's the GOAT. Rewatching it over and over blows your mind as you realize just what he was accomplishing while he played. I love this era too. I love the double clutch with the Nets but one that I wish more people looked at was the play in the '92 Tournament of the Americas Game 1 versus Cuba. Four minutes in, Magic throws an errant pass, Jordan chases it down, saves it out of bounds behind the back to Bird who sinks a shot. Bob Costas called MJ an artist...he was spot on.

People say Kyrie has the greatest layup "package" ever. Not sure. I might put Kyrie ahead of Mj with regards to the english on the ball, off the glass from any angle, left or right hand etc. But Mj is close if not right there. The part where Mj stands alone is body control. His combination of athleticism and body control is nonpareil, 2nd to none. Dr. J had great body control as well. The Mj nets layup - The burst (he was the black cat), the long jump like take off and the body control, followed by the finish. Mj was art in motion more than any player before or since.

@grahamgreene779
@grahamgreene779 Ай бұрын
@@TheRealMindCrime yeah, Kyrie is the current king no doubt. What I also find amazing is that I think Kenny Smith is right when he talks about Mj being the only player whose weaknesses when he came in the league, later became strengths. I think Mj's left was definitely suspect his first 2-3 years. In particular there are plays were he's going coast to coast and a typical, fluid basketball movement would have required a left-handed dribble at some point, yet he stays with the right the entire time. Of course he gets away with it bc he's Mj. But by 88/89, forget about it. I understand why Detroit wanted to force him left, it was a numbers game at that point, but his handle seriously improved from his first year or 2, as did the jumper out to around '20, as we all know.

12:50 James “Buddha” Edwards. He tried to tackle Jordan in the 91ECF. No whining. Just took free throws. Jordan didn’t go after other superstars, he instead got 3 kinda role players from the Bad Boys (Rodman, Edwards, Sally). Rodman wasn’t a superstar at that point, he was bounced from the Spurs. Secret Base has a good Rodman/Popavic beef video.

I'm willing to contend that Kyrie Irving and Timmy both belong up there for masters of the glass certification. Timmy for sure, but I do think Kyrie has some of the softest touch around the rim, along with his ability to physically maneuver mid-air. Now I wanna watch some film and see though😂😂

11:35 that’s one thing that’s missed on Jordan’s era vs LeBron - not only did Jordan not take 3s but nobody did. You didn’t have all your defenders hanging by the three point line and only one guy to secure the rim.

Jordan can't go left. Except that probably half this video is of him going left. So, "we done with the 90's" folks, please shut the hell up. So much of this video is basically MJ going left 1 on 5, and scoring again and again and again. Nothing like him before, and nothing like him since. One more time, Kobe was the closest to MJ and he wasn't close. Comparing LBJ to MJ is laughable, please stop it. TRMC, you are not trippin'. Kyrie has the best current layup package and (imo) MJ's is better. MJ's ginormous hands and his lift let him do things nobody else could do, and they still can't.

Also, to reinforce your statement around the 12:45 mark about some of the shit he did seeming impossible...case in point...that one where Laimbeer and Sally are literally smothering him during a baseline layup...even IF his opponents were so-called plumbers or whatever the hell else...does that negate both those dudes being very big and strong and committing what would now be considered flagrant contact? Does that negate the ability to shift himself around said "plumbers" while in mid-air just to make something out of nothing? I'm just saying, Lebron could never and his fans can't stand that fact. Hence the ridiculous stories.

You mean to tell me (Lebron fans) that Lebron is a better scorer than MJ when MJ has: - lethal mid-range - most beautiful layup package; reverse, switching hands, acrobatic, name it - killer fadeaway - one of the best in game dunkers of all time - lethal in the open court/fastbreak - 80% career FT *didn't utilize the 3 as much but he's at league average (not good/not bad). but if you have seen enough Bulls games, MJ has a lot of long range jump shots. just a step in front of the 3pt line
