Being a Chuck fan all these years, I think MJ befriended Chuck primarily because he saw Chuck as the only person capable of challenging his dominance, and he wanted some mental edge from it. Not saying that was MJ's sole purpose, but, unlike Chuck, he must've valued that over anything else because, unlike Chuck, he knew that such dominance is not just limited to the basketball court but more importantly in the money making capacity for years to come...

We don’t know the ins and outs of both sides. I have a similar situation with one of my friends. We have not spoken to each others in 7 years and still going. It’s great to have friends that last, not everything does. We change as people with time. What we tolerated 10 years ago maybe not now. What we valued 5 years ago but not now. 20 years ago you 2 were the same. Now one is senior vp at MS and the other is gangster, for example. Our world is no longer the same. We beefed. We moved on. If you think it’s easier at the top then come up and experience it before you say something. Charles has job. His job is to opinionated of something on someone’s performances.
