A lot of the layups he made couldn't have been duplicated by any player in NBA history. Think about that. With all the freakish athletes and the popularity of basketball, his skill set is still that unique. One of the best leapers ever, HUGE hands, dexterity, creativity... I almost never say "there will never be another ______", but with MJ, it's true.

The key is “improvisation”. Almost 99% of players, including elite athletes such as Kobe, KD, Bron, Tmac..ect. jumped up “planning” to do a reverse layup, while MJ was planning to dunk but “changed” his mind in the middle of his “flight!”

Even if Jordan played today he would still be other worldly in his athleticism and skills. But watching these kinds of highlights demonstrates the massive gap in athleticism between Jordan and the average NBA player at the time. That average NBA player today has closed that gap quite a lot.

Agree, a Great Example Of That Was The Play I Think Against The Hawks 👉🏽Pippen Save The Ball from Going Outside The Line is in The Air, With The Back To The Court But Has an idea Where's Michael Throw it To Him Jordan is Guarded by Stacy Augmon, Goes Jump and Take The 🏀 in The Air With Only One Hand and in The Same Motion On The Air Make Takes The 🏀 Back To Protected From Augmon, Then a 20 or 22 Feet Jump Shot, I Think He Kiss The Glass, a Perfect Shot, and He Did Everything With One Motion One Hand Only Use The Left Hand At The Time To Throw The Jump Shots After Came Down With The 🏀 Glued in His Right Hand. You Will Remember The Play is One Of The Greatest Example Of His Enormous Big Hands, The Great Body Control, Air Suspended, Even Thinking His Next Move, While He's Floating in The Air. 👉🏽Fly #23 M.J. He Will Be The G🏀at For Ever in My Opinion... ✍🏽 And I'm a Knicks Fan, He Destroyed n Kick it Us Out Of The Playoffs Us Almost Every Year Since The Late 80's to 98... At Least I Bought a Memorabilia Of Him an Small Piece Of Wood, From The Chicago Stadium's Court. Where He Won His First 3 - Rings I Give it To My Son, Like 15 Years Ago, Hmmm👉🏽 i H🤔pe He Still Got it. That's a Precious Memorabilia From The Greatest Of All Time.

@@celharris437 Jordan been done shaving. He's comfortable in his skin. That's part of what makes him the GOAT. If you aint true to yourself you ain't a real one. Lebron has had 5 different hair lines.. much like yourself. Be true to yourself and the best version of yourself will come out. Dont waste potential on what could have been. Make it happen dude. Be rational though. Genetics isn't something you can mess with. If you bald you bald. Move on. Learn the game little cuz.

They used to play his layup from the 91 finals vs the lakers iirc every sunday on nbc for the start of basketball games like a shows theme song. (The shot was him going up for a dunk with the right and switches to the left hand layup at the last second). I think he got it against his old tarheel buddy big game james worthy.

Jordan was the human highlight real. It’s still amazing how people packed stadiums all across the globe to this stuff and he never disappointed. Correct me if I’m wrong but It’s typical for the all stars to not play in the games that were against the really bad teams and Jordan never did that. He understood that Moms and Dads and children were there to see him put on a show and he never lost sight of this. This set him apart from all the other greats

Three ball ruined it. The NBA needs alot alot more penetration. I was watching a game from the mid 2000s the other day (cavs vs heat) and Bron and D Wade slashed their way to the hoop over and over and over getting contact at the rim creating fouls, and ones, amazing finishes at the rim. It was fun to watch! Something has to change...Rules or something to bring back the real NBA.

It's not that hard actually, basketball can be fixed by removing the 3 point line. It will revert to inside basketball again because that would be the highest percentage shot to take. Dunking and laying it up. That would be very exciting to watch. We would get big dominant bigs again.
@LazyCrazyGuy
@LazyCrazyGuy 6 ай бұрын
@@impacc4182clearly you don't know much and you're talking out your cheeks. Jordan retired in 2003 and LeBum didn't dominate nothing. He played in a weak Eastern Conference that managed to get him to lots of Finals appearances and almost as many losses because the West was deep. His 2007 Finals run consisted of beating not one but two .500 teams in the Nets and Wizards while his team was .609 on the season. The only team worth mentioning that he beat was the .646 Pistons. Then he and his Cavs got dismantled in a sweep by the .707 Spurs. That conference is so weak that the Pistons would have been a 4th seed in the West while being 1st in the East. Cavs would have been a 6th seed in the West instead of 2nd in the East 😅 LeBum wouldn't be seen again until 2011 where he got locked up by a 35 year old Jason Terry and held him to a measly 8 points in game 5 of the Finals while LeQueen joined a superteam with Wade and Bosh. Meanwhile Dirk carried his 2011 Mavericks to a championship being the sole Superstar on that team and being the leading scorer on his team every game. Dirk would have more rings than LeJumpToANewSuperTeam if Dirk took the LeNeedsMoreHelp approach. Don't mention that bum in videos showing the GOAT 🐐 MJ. Mike would have made LeQuit cry on the court if he wasn't an investor for the Wizards. He was nice at that point in his career.

He was the best because he played consistently at this level! I and millions of others, we were there live to see these highlights in the 80’s and 90’s, his intensity and momentum seemed to never waiver! Before M.J., became that guy, Magic Johnson was the overall best to me in the 70’s and 80’s, but Michael Jordan came along and raised the bar even higher! And in my opinion no one has matched it yet! (Derrick Rose, was the following potential runner up but major injury cancelled out his shot)……but there’s one guy showing the superlative potential to reach it today but currently his weight, frequency of injuries and overall health grade appears to be a barrier that may prevent him from entering the stratosphere where only Michael Jordan resides…….and that rookie star player is “🏀 Ja Morant 🏀”….in my opinion.
