That sequence of 4 consecutive individual plays by Jordan is the greatest sequence in pro sports history. With under 1 minute 1. MJ hits 2 free throws 2. Followed by a rocket booster layup taking only 3 seconds off the clock after the inbound, in an attempt to get 2 for 1. 3. On defense, leaves his man (Hornacek) and sneaks up and pickpockets Malone. 4. Takes the ball up court, crosses Brian Russell, who with that momentum almost ended up in the parking lot, and Jordan hits the championship dagger jump shot. Can anyone think of a more storybook and fitting ending for the one true greatest of all time. And this is why LeBron will never retire... He can't (In his own mind) retire after a first round exit. He needs to leave on a high note. But he'll never win a Scoring Title, MVP, FMVP, DPOY, etc So all he can hope for is bringing another star over to LA next season to try and sneak a quick ring in a feeble attempt to cement his GOAT status. Problem is he's not even close, and even another ring means nothing.

That's a he wasn't only scoring more than half their points in a more physical era, but he was doing it off mostly two pointers and free throws. He wasn't scoring 40 points off of eight three-point attempts. He wasn't scoring 50 points with 12 three-point attempts. This guy was getting it the hard way off of driving into actual centers and power forwards mauling him while getting hacked on the way to the basket off of twos and free throws and still managing an over 50% shooting clip absolute Insanity

I think that is one of the things that gets missed when you just look at stats. He accounted for over 50% of the Bull's offense in that 1998 game, that's absolutely crazy. Every single defender knew MJ was going to eventually get his hands on the ball and they still couldn't do anything about it. I don't know if this is even tracked but MJ has to be one of the most double, and triple teamed basketball player ever. Nearly every single time MJ attacked the basket there was a defender there waiting to challenge. It's not only because they played tougher defense then, but also he's only a 6'6 220lb guard. He looks like someone you can challenge at the rim and they did... and failed, almost all the time. Go watch his highlights of him dunking, it's almost always on someone’s head, if not a coupe dudes heads.
