Kids these days only know of Charles Barkley as Chuck and think he's just some heavy set, washed up guy who only talks about the old days. Kids don't know what a beast he was. As good as he was here, I'm not sure he even peaked. I think his best years were in Phoenix.
@spiidey13 жыл бұрын
Whats even more criminal is that he never played with a teammate as good as he was until he got to Houston. If he had a HOFer sidekick like how Jordan had Pippen, he might've won a ring.

@@spiidey1 That's not true at all. Barkley joined the Kj led Suns, who were a 50+ win team every yr 89-92, they went to two WCF. Kj was the better player & was more accomplished than Pippen going into the 92-93 season. Injuries slowed down Kj.
@spiidey13 жыл бұрын
@@blo2706 KJ was great, and is one of the more underrated stars of his era, but he's not a HOFer teammate. Jordan had Pippen, Stockton had Malone (vice versa), Hakeem had Drexler, and Duncan had Robinson. KJ without injuries would've benefited their offense a bit more, but the Suns really needed a good shotblocker to deter people from scoring in the paint.
@blo27063 жыл бұрын
@@spiidey1 Kj should be in the HOF. My point was Barkley had help way before Houston, it's a myth Barkley never had help, he just had a small window of time with Philly & Phoenix. People seem to think the Suns were a one man show which is false, they were 50+ win team without Barkley. Remember Kj outplayed Barkley against Houston in 94 & 95. The Suns real problem was Kj & Barkley were never 100% healthy at the same time.

Again, in this day and age, had a star player dunked on another star player like Jordan did over Barkley @2:15 there would have been major showboating and posturing going on. But not Jordan. Not the GOAT. He dunks on his man and doesn't need to tell everyone about it. He KNOWS he's the best and shows restraint and sportsmanship by tapping the ball out of bounds for the defender to inbound and moves on. It may seem like a little thing but that means something. It's something that Barry Sanders knew as well. People naturally love a person who is amazing and doesn't need to tell you they just did something awesome. Wish more players these days were like that.
@vexotimmer26753 жыл бұрын
Well said David, I agree. For example, Jordan would never say that he's the greatest player of all time after winning his 3rd championship, like a certain somebody did, even though that player still lost 6 NBA Finals and got swept in 2 of those Finals. Jordan has more sportsmanship than that egotistical maniac.
@katrinachavez35333 жыл бұрын
Oh, it's not a little thing, especially for us older heads. We love the humble assassins. So damn true about the flexing and mean mugging in today's game - such a turn off. You acting like Chuck doesn’t get up just as much as MJ. He had a 40” standing Vertical I can only imagine what his running/head start vertical was probably close or around 44” if not higher Chuck had stupid bounce. If he he block Kareem, Hakeem, Shaq im sure he can block MJ dunks as well.
@JoshOkoye Жыл бұрын
@@kanyecrazy7440 Barkley athletic ability isn’t what got him that block. Pippen wasn’t quick enough to the dunk and he didn’t finish through the contract, Barkley was stronger than him. Barkley does not have a 40 inch standing vert and he definitely did not have a 44 inch running vertical. Barkley was definitely a pretty good athlete because he would go coast to coast and dunk it with two hands and get two handed out pack dunks and rebounds. But he was not as fast, explosive nor was his head at the rim like Jordan’s was. He was not in any dunk contest or known for dunking like Jordan, Clyde drexler, Dominique Wilkins etc. Also Barkley was not blocking Jordan’s dunk because he has been dunked on by Jordan many times and he just simply couldn’t jump fast enough or jump as high. It’s on KZbin everywhere
