Every fan here in LA cared and watched the opening games or at least the highlights. It aired at 3 AM in LA

this commissioner is a joke, ask the people in Atlanta

💯. Lots of people I know who are big baseball fans thought it was an exhibition. MLB is clueless. I didn't watch a pitch. Also, March 20th? For crying out loud, ivory tower.

Now you know how us floridians feel on your Network Yes not allowed in florida so we cant watch our fav team the Yankees play. I lived in NY all my life but moved to florida 8 urs ago not being able to watch my Yankees team. Not fair Mike.
@mikeypie24Ай бұрын
You guys kill me. Do you really think MLB cares about the fans. If playing over there makes the owners more money. That is all that is important to them.

Don: disjointed. Correct. With Michael and Don 100%. It's our GD game.

I don’t understand the anger at your sport becoming more international as if there won’t be another 160 games to watch this season.

It would be fine any other time. But actually listen to what the guys and all the rest of us who heard what they said was that NOT OPENING DAY

What Mike is complaining about man you did it once in 🇯🇵 like 20 years ago and it was aired on yes with singy and giradi

Michael, you know the All Stars will blow the game off if it is out of the country. These solutions require fans, MLB and the players association. And the Korea series like most of these decisions put MLB and the players association first, and fans a distant third.
@FSamuels20Ай бұрын
Yea, I think they should try it with Toronto and maybe Mexico but outside of that most players will load management that game

Domestic growth in the US has no impact playing 2 games in a foreign country as opening day. If it does, then baseball in America has much bigger problems than having to worry about losing audiences playing in a foreign country. Stop moaning, fans in the US know there is 160 more games.
@David-rt3ydАй бұрын
That’s not the point the point is that it’s not a good look for MLB when most of their fans in this country can’t even watch the game live because it’s happening when they are asleep and good luck finding an explorer that will be sympathetic towards someone who’s primary reason for being tired is because they stayed up really late to watch baseball (which is what most of the Dodger and Padre fans in this country had to do in order to watch the start of MLB season) and your point would be valid if MLB didn’t schedule this game for the first series of the 2024 MLB season
@kyleknapp1985Ай бұрын
It was stupid. For one, having their actual season start before everyone else’s. It felt less special. The actual opening day felt less special. Bc it already started.

Newsflash for Michael Kay, america isn’t the center of the world. Two of the biggest stars the dodgers added are Asian and one of them transcends the sport entirely in terms of his popularity. Not to mention the padres have Kim on their team who’s well renowned in South Korea. Just such a nonsensical, myopic way of seeing things
@MikeLowell-fx8jtАй бұрын
America is the center of baseball is his point

Do you know why Baseball was so much more popular 25yrs ago?..because of the teams that were battling in the playoffs during those years..also the rivalries during those years were way better than today guys..that's why nobody watched the Fall Classic this year..it's the same boring teams year after year, and nobody cares anymore..and yes, I'm biased, but I believe that if the Yankees aren't in the race, or in the World Series, it's just not as exciting and it doesn't feel like the Fall Classic..at least let's hope for some new teams in there this year..thanks guys, great show as always..⚾

Baseball is #3?? lol. That’s a Laugh. Baseball is Behind the UFC and Soccer in America these days. Let alone College Football, NFL and NBA. Baseball has gone the way of NASCAR and Heavyweight Boxing. They used to be very popular. Not No More.

MLB, is taking a down hill road. To many changes that are hurting the sport. It will never be the same, unfortunately. I'm still a baseball fan, but not like before, just like other real baseball fans.
