That Camus line was a perfect conclusion to this. “Don't walk in front of me -I may not follow; don't walk behind -I may not lead; walk beside me and just be my friend.”
@aisha39993 жыл бұрын
This saying was credited to Albert Camus in one of its earliest known appearances in December 1971. Oddly, the earliest instances were presented in English and not French. Camus died in 1960; hence, the evidence linking Camus to the expression was very weak. Great line, but it should be designated as anonymous.

Bc he's such a damn contrarian he argues with your damn question. He adds no value to any conversation, he just disagrees with you about every little thing and things that matter to no one. He thinks everyone is so interested in him or what he thinks. Ppl are mistakenly identifying this man as some kind of thinker when in reality he's an idiot savant. Damnit. I am living in a different universe, is there anyone else in this forum that agrees with me? In the twilight zone over here. Wtf is that movie where the guy is the only one who sees the demons in ppl? And he's going crazy? I'm not saying malice is a demon. He's just really annoying. Someone gave the annoying kid on the spectrum a publisher and loud speaker.

I like how lex will slip in some quick brutal jabs at Malice without missin a beat in the same tone of voice. When they show Malice react its funny because it's like he heard it, then disregarded it but then realized he actually did crack a joke on him. Lex ain't completely deadpan but he often does speak and shows body language that is quite odd/unique when compared to someone else talking about the same thing in the same Context.

My favorite 2021 moment was the 4th of July. In my area and many places around America the canceled firework celebrations because of Covid 19. What gathering could be easier to social distance at? In response many people had bbqs in their own yard and blew off their own fireworks. In my area police were darting around town responding to nosy neighbors. After only an hour or so they stood down and parked on the main roads. Neighbors shared food and drinks while their kids played catch and road bikes. Then around 10pm most everyone cleaned up and went inside. Civil disobedience is beautiful.

Lex and Michael are such a wonderful duo. The two of them should be the ones to guide us into the future. Lex is such a perfect representation of the naive, logic, order and Michael is the beauty of chaos, emotion, and philosophy. The two are in a struggle of push and pull with the rope between being intellect and the desire to see the potential of humanity realized. We need more people like them.

I can not overstate how much I love this episode. From beginning to end, so many little gems of moments. The fondness I have for the interview is the same fondness I have for my favorite movies. I enjoy being taken on a journey wherein you experience a myriad of emotions -The movies that make you laugh outloud and cry and think and fill you up. What makes it sweeter still is that these are not characters or actors, they're real people who are really friends in real life right now. "BEAUTY WILL SAVE THE WORLD." -Dostoevsky
@tiffanydeangelo85753 жыл бұрын
There would never be a way for me to say thank you enough for the long form interviews you do. Many days, it keeps me sane as I run two businesses in this wild wonderful world. Thank you also for spreading hope, which we all need more than anything. Keep it up, people like you and your friends will be the ones that solidify our successful future. Also must say, I always enjoy watching/listening to Michael Malice whatever show he might be on, but the interaction between the two of you is warm, calming, honest, and pleasant to watch - something we see less and less these days.

From the depths of my heart, thank you Michael. After flirting conceptually w/ anarchism for years, your directness gave me the courage to not only openly embrace it but to _practice_ it as an ethical norm -- wherever there is a opportunity & space to do so w/o it being snuffed out. It integrates quite well w/ the ideals of my community (Recovery/ meetings) which value love/connection, agency, autonomy of choice, & suggestion (rather than rules or demands) all as spiritually based, transcendant virtues. & I must add: the administrative structure of AA & NA (top to bottom, locally to globally) is a quite functional model that elegantly synthesize anarchism with a rich ecosystem of meaning-making. & I think the meaning crisis and anarchism are inexplicably linked. Both offer productive solutions for the other. I hope the likes of Daniel Schmachtenberger, Jordan Hall, Jamie Wheel, Peterson, & Vervaeke take a more serious look at this.

Sort of. We do have the 12 traditions. Try veering away from those at a business meeting and watch the old timers' eyes turn red. 😅
@sovpsyche54273 жыл бұрын
@@Durchii @Durchii very true. But for some context, here's an excerpt from the 12 & 12; on practicing Tradition 10- "Nor does it mean, that the members of AA, now restored as citizens of the world, are going to back away from their indivudal responsibilities to act as they see the right [sic] upon issues of our time."
@sovpsyche54273 жыл бұрын
@@Durchii ^^^With that said, I took care in wording my comment, so as to suggest that non-members could use our administrative structure as a model to draw inspiration from, to possibly replicate & scale. Perhaps I wasn't so clear, but I wasn't suggesting AA groups themselves take on this role (lest they go the way of the Washingtonian's). However, there would be nothing stopping individual members - with a great working knowledge of the business structure - from building parallel systems without the AA / NA name, perhaps in tandem with non-members too (I've made a few efforts, perhaps it's not the right time, but definitely not the right place lol).
