@ianmacfarlane12415 жыл бұрын
@Bilal Khalid You "bet they weren't going that fast"? Doesn't appear that you know ANYTHING about the TT. It's a time trial (although the TT stands for Tourist Trophy) so the racers will be going at 90 - 95%*of what's possible at any given time - no one is 'hanging about' at the TT. Look beyond the top 6, perhaps down to the top 30 - 40, and you'll still see racers putting in phenomenal lap times. Lesser bikes, smaller privateer teams, and less skill perhaps, but no one is going slowly. The margins are tiny, and occasionally riders will simply be 'lucky' - check out Keith Amor's Supersport crash (circa 2012 - I'm not sure of the year off the top of my head) he slides somewhere around 80 - 100 metres while miraculously managing to hit nothing - a kerb or a wall could have seen a bad accident. Or check out Connor Cummins legendary 2010 crash at the Verandah - how he survived is anyone's guess. Going further back, how about Milky Quayles crash (roughly 2003 or thereabouts) - you'll wonder how anyone could live through that. There are literally dozens, possibly hundreds, of crashes at the TT where luck played a massive part - and to dare suggest that "they weren't going that fast" is offensive to say the least. You've no idea what you're talking about - it's just that simple. *I'm certain that a number of people will say that the racers are going at 100% - I'm not sure about that - no one can ride on the ragged edge for an hour and a half, so they'll hold a few percent back at times. It's likely that 90 - 95% is unrealistic too - it's probably around 95%(+) but it's difficult to quantify. Suffice to say that they are tearing it up.
@ianmacfarlane12415 жыл бұрын
@Bilal Khalid That's very kind of you. I wouldn't like to promise that I am "right" about everything, but what I am right about is that no one is going slowly at the TT. When Valentino Rossi admits that he's not cut out for a motorcycle race, you KNOW that it's the toughest motorcycle race in the World. And I mean no disrespect to any other road event, (or Dakar to be fair.)

Out of all the POV footage i've seen thus far surrouning the TT this has gotta be the smoothest ride, the Panigale isn't fighting you as much as what i've seen on the other bikes where there's much more aggressive shaking and trembling on the straights and turns, i dunno if its just the way the camera is setup or if that suspension of his is dialed in on this bike but thats probably the most comfortable i've seen anyone sending it at 200mph ... what a beautiful relationship between man and machine right here.

(assuming it was a mosquito) Just think about all the people he never got to bite ! The mosquito should have learned how to cross the road . In the UK , in the 70s, we used to have "The Green Cross Code" , starring Darth Vader (David Prowse) without the scary helmet and cloak.

What's really amazing is that, insanely fast as this thing is, if you compare his time between the pedestrian crossing at 0:59 and the gas station at 7:59 to the same spots in the narrated laps by Cam Donald (600) and Peter Hickman (1000) you can find elsewhere, he's already 13 seconds behind the 600 and 38 seconds behind the 1000.

Raid bike verses race bike
@pechorin19756 жыл бұрын
@@54Rocketeer Obviously. The point is, the road bikes already seem insane, and they're slow in comparison to even the 600s.
@lt1eg66 жыл бұрын
I'd love to see the telemetry post lap to compare. It's mental how much ground is covered in the corners. 13 seconds over the span of 6 minutes is enormous .
@54Rocketeer6 жыл бұрын
Again a race bike are you suggesting the 600cc road bike version is as quick as this machine? Also the riders not trying to prove anything it’s a demo lap only, hardly comparable. The times are irrelevant for comparisons, hopefully Ducati might turn up with a top rider this year, then we can make our observations
