Omg!!. How the TT lads cope with that kind of speed and bar movement is beyond comprehension for my tiny brain lol. Just one mistake and dogmeat instantly!!. I know Michael is an incredible rider but it just goes to show there are all us lads who think we can ride a bike and then you see things like this!!.. I now realise how crap I actually am lol!. I salute every single one of the road racing lads for sure!.

@@polla2256 I was a bit sad and did some calculations (see one of my other comments in this video). between 5:32 and 5:44 when it red lines at about 15000 rpm in sixth, he's probably doing about 209 MPH .

@@karlosh9286 The speedometer isn't accurate (ever). Afaik they did a GPS measurement of this bike at vmax, i.e. 15krpm in 6th and it yielded 307 kph / 191 mph. Note that it could go quite a bit faster with a longer 6th gear.

I did Mad Sunday on a 900 z1. The bike was in really great condition for something that was over 40. I think I was overtaken by everyone, including a ginger bearded man in a Datsun 100a F2. I was delighted to find out later that it was far from standard. Made me feel a little better. Anyway, I left the island with myself and the bike in the same condition we arrived. Apart from a slight hangover!😁

It probably is. This bike has more steering wobble than any other bike I've seen on this circuit, plus it has a retarded amount of torque. I imagine every bump is putting a rider's throttle discipline to the test like no other.

Michael Rutter is one of the greatest road racers in the sport. He is known for his ultra smooth style. Go well in 2022 MR. A quick lap on the DPV4 and he takes it to 15,000RPM 6th gear @5:40

Easy to calculate, its 206mph in 6th based on your numbers. But those are thachometer numbers, so subtract about 5-7% off of them.

My road-going 1976 tuned 850cc pushrod V-twin , shaft-drive, heavy, kidney-bashing, agricultural engined, car-type clutch/ battery/ starter, c/b points, proddy-race LeMans, from memory was 1st 55mph 2nd 85mph 3rd 110mph 4th 135mph 5th153mph.(legal PR rules tuning MCN-tested bike 148mph) 40mm carbs, straight-cut close-ratio gearbox,aftermarket steering damper, unlinked brakes, calipers behind the fork legs, big-bore exhaust system, Pirelli Phantoms. Bit of work on the engine, but not that much. Seemed fairly nippy on the roads back then. When the horrid GPz900R came out I could reel in a good rider on one of those and pull away, on the roads. Positively stomped out of bends.

Oven King thing is he is accelerating so most of the drive is on the rear so he allows the front to find its line. Except one time where he was to get some chattering he reduced a little but that was already going into a turn. Simply a professional he knows it well. He is a frequent podium at Macau race as well last time 2nd or 3rd if not mistaken. Rides bikes for PB magazine really fun to read his reviews.

If you’re trying to learn the circuit there’s a good video of McPint on the Paton with Milky Q commentating, lot slower and you can keep up, just about...

You can learn the sequence of place names that way, but it takes 3 years riding it to learn the circuit. Bumps, where grids & drain covers are etc. Something inexperienced riders have found out the hard way.
