To the pressing W and S at the same time comment, it depends game to game. Some games they'll cancel out and no movement will happen, some will take order priority so if you pressed W then S you'd go back or S then W you'd go forward, and others will do custom priority where W will move your forward regardless of input on S

Gamedev here about W and S question: It depends. You can pile if statements and it'll execute in that priority. The best way to do it is to sum velocity for whatever is pressed, and send the final sum to the movement once, then it just cancels as expected.

2:35 The straightforward but arduous proposal would be using something like blob detection to scan for visual indicators that signal collision. Most FPS have a visual audio indicator that’s pretty static. And since all (to my knowledge) FPS’s “forward” is the direct center point of the screen, you could scan for just the middle of a 3x3 grid of the screen. Problems already are: - Al games have different indicators, so you’d need “Profiles” for games. - The boundary for diagonal or sideways motion is comparatively smaller. It’d probably be buggy. And y’know, you can move backwards. - Character-specific movement. Special considerations needed for e.g. Pharah when flying (OW), or Valkyrie (Apex). - If the success criteria is to gain advantage of aim assist while using M&K, then you’d need a VERY fast API, or all local. A 50ms range on connectivity will be noticeable. It sounds like a nightmare. So, a great YT video.

William, think of adding a "velocity" per direction with the keys. For "Forward" W would be +1, S would be -1, and the other axes would be the same. All you gotta do is sum whatever is pressed, so if W is pressed it'll be 1, S would give -1, but both would sum to 0.
