I love hanging coins. David Roth was a coin guy ive always wanted to meet. But never got see him. Well done Michael it was very magical like always

Thank you for driving home that last important point. There is undoubtedly a place in magic for current tech…it’s wonderful stuff. But there’s nothing like watching somebody handle 4 noisy coins with grace and fluidity. It’s art no matter what anyone calls it.

Michael, you're the humblest magician I've ever seen. You effuse at great length about your peers, teachers and forebears to an extent I've never seen from another magician. Your acknowledgement of your predecessors and your enthusiasm for the craft is as inspiring as the tricks themselves. Some day, other magicians will talk about you in the same way. You're a living legend.

Hi Michael. Thank you for inspiration. You do great job for people by reminding them to read books as they should be, rather than the digital versions. I do not have much experience with coins, so the last part with one coin in left hand was in secret for me. Another reason to read that book.

Thank you Michael for giving credit to John Ramsay for the origin of Hanging Coins, to his Coins In The Hat, but resent describing it as a ` monstrosity `. David Roth who had spent years researching books and magazines containing coin magic said it was a truly original effect unlike any other. Dai Vernon said that Ramsay was the greatest close up magician he ever saw and his work will last as long as magic is performed.
@MichaelVincentMagic Жыл бұрын
Hello Andrew I meant no disrespect to John Ramsay or you for that matter by my comment. My use of the word monstrosity was a reflection of my own technical inadequacy in being able to make John Ramsay’s routine work for me. My mentor spoke in glowing terms of John Ramsay and I was greatly inspired by his work. If anything, my use of the word monstrosity is sign of respect for his ability to design such a routine and present in the way that was described to me by Alan Alan and Bobby Bernard. I got it on good authority how great John Ramsay was and I heard it from those who saw him. I am sorry if you feel any kind of resentment - perhaps you could have message me privately to express yourself. Your comment is now viral as my video has been since I first shared a few years ago. I hope my reply expresses the deepest respect and admiration I have for John Ramsay - your teacher. With respect Michael Vincent.🙏🏽

Hi Michael, If you had explained that the word monstrosity referred to your problems with learning the Coins In The Hat rather than the effect itself I would have heartily agreed with you as I worked on it for years before showing it to anyone. John regarded this as his finest and most original creation as did Dai Vernon and a number of others. David Roth told me that without The Coins In The Hat there would have been no Hanging Coins. Look forward to seeing you back in Scotland again soon. Regards Andrew.

I appreciate your reply Andrew and happy that my communication finally makes sense. I made an attempt to learn the routine and come up with my own solution. I even performed my solution on television decades ago. Thanks for sharing the feedback of Dai Vernon snd David Roth. Don’t forget, I learnt a lot about John Ramsay through Alan Alan. Alan loved Ramsay. He glowed every time he spoke of him. When Alan performed The Skyhooks for me, it was real magic.

When David Roth does this, it’s a Flippin miracle :-) I was once at a convention and I was kind of bored in the convention wasn’t what I expected and some random guy I remember his name was Paul he took out Quarters at a bar in the hotel lobby and did hanging coins and it blew my mind so bad. Made my whole convention and I never saw Paul ever again. I wonder what he’s doing nowadays

Thanks Michael! Your mastery of the magic is mind boggling. Another amazing thing to me is being able to tell a story and the communication part of magic. I think it takes just as much time and careful attention to master and it is such a pleasure to watch at such a high level as the physical part of the magic is.

Hi Michael, This brings back so many memories. Did you include this in your routine when you won the Magic Circle close-up competition for the first time? Coincidentally, I have been practicing the Hanging Coins over the last few weeks. One of my favourite subtleties, after failing to make the second coin invisible (because it had not been squeezed hard enough) was to repeat the move and check that the coin was invisible before opening the hand to show the audience. Then came my favourite line, as the left-hand revolved holding the invisible coin "... as you can see it's now invisible... On both sides!" I can't believe it's been 38 years since you help me learn this beautiful piece of magic.
@MichaelVincentMagic3 жыл бұрын
It was part of my act Steve. Studying this plot with Alan was great. Those subtleties brought life to the fantasy
