This has been an eye opener! I recently added the DD8 to my board, and I play guitar in a duo with a vocalist. Some of these ideas have just added a heap of texture to our sound. Thanks Michael, your videos are invaluable to a gigging musician. Keep up the good work ❤

I too have struggled to find a way to utilize reverse delay. I am going to try the settings you have suggested, and then combine it with my Digitech Supernatural reverb. Great content!

Thanks so much for this video, Michael. I have a DD8 as my delay pedal and I admit the Reverse setting is always the type I've used least. But this gives me some great settings and ideas to delve into. Cheers and kepp up the great content. Very inspiring, as always.

Oh sweet you have a REAL Tele Deluxe! The first time I ever seen one was in 2003 at a used store in Pittsburgh...it was a 72' and it by far had the smoothest neck i have ever played plus i loved those CBS headstocks....it was only 600 bucks but was on "hold" for the kid that worked there part time....i didn't get it and a few years later all those reissues showed up that do not feel ANYTHING like the one I played in the store that day.....sad i know lol

Just want to point out that the setting for "Make Your Reverb Sound Bigger" sort of sounds like a home made version of reverse reverb even though the reverb is conventional. Reminds me of oil can delay sounds or even the EQD Space Spiral when it's washed out. Like you almost forget there is delay in htere. Good episode. Cheers.

I have a DL4 MK2, and I always thought a reverse delay would be great. However, I had quite a problem finding a setting that would work for me. Now, I have some ideas. Thanks for the useful video!

My favorite setting for the DL4 mkII reverse delay is to set the time as long as it goes with a single repeat, some modulation, and the swelling reverb. Using that over moody fingerpicking parts gives your playing a nice synth like accompaniment

@@FRRGC Sounds very interesting. I will try that by myself. Thanks for the hint!

Nice work as usual! Reverse is something I probably would not have explored except it was one of many features on the boss dd20 I got early on. Once I fiddled with it on high mix and low regen with delay times available on the dd20 that are wicked fast- like hundreds or even thousands of BPM, I found some amazing ring mod and step phaser sounds. I constantly use the step phaser type effect like a Tremolo that is on lsd, and it's great for song intros or transitions that bleed into the next section fading away. The ring mod sounds are excellent for stacking with a fuzz or lead solo type sound to just put a layer of special on the sound- not always in tune but something that can be fine tuned for your song. What's more - presets and stereo jacks or a stereo headphone jack which is just heaven. Anyway- don't overlook reverse delay, if you can find a dd20 or something with extremely fast delay times available - it's worth exploring the reverse effect alone.

True, the DD-8 can't get a super fast delay time in reverse mode so I'll look out for those sounds when I eventually get around to getting one that does. Thanks!

Would you be able to do a series of tutorials on what effects you need or might need for different genres? I know myself and some others are looking for a starting-point depending on the type of music we want to play. If you could also discuss the pedal order in relation to the genre. I enjoy all the info you provide, especially because I have all Boss pedals! Thank you and God bless.
