Yes, definetly the nicest place in the area. Discovered South of Fifth about 13 years ago on my exploration walks through Miami Beach. Nice to see, that is has been updated in many parts but not lost its diversity and charme. Although, as with all hidden gems, once they are discovered, cost to live will rise. I remember, that 2005 some of the smaller properties were well below 500k still available. Times change

Man I could watch these walkthrough videos all day! And SoFi is my favorite part of Miami Beach...to your point on owning those fancy toys, I'd be happy renting them whenever I wanna play a little harder, and be glad to not have the headache of maintenance and monthly expense. In my opinion, Miami has an unfair stigma of carrying a high cost of living, when you can get dirt cheap rent right by the ocean, you really just need a good bike to cover the entire city, the beach is free, and the people and ambiance are amazing. Way better than every other big American city. Cost of living is what you make it, cost of living like a boss...now that's another story lol.
@MichaelBordenaro4 жыл бұрын
Man I'm so glad you are liking these type of videos David. I will be doing more of them for sure! I like to do them on ideal weather days to show what the area is really like and to minimize wind. But yes, you can easily rent some nice toys when you want here for a fraction of what they would cost to own, now that is smart! I believe the quality of life here is second to none. We have almost everything you could want and need in this small oceanside town 😎

I watch a guy that lives in Tokyo, Japan ahd he does live stream walk and talk videos mostly like this. His are often an hour to 3 hour walks. So the vides can become 3 hours long. So I would not worry about breaking your videos up there are people all over the world who enjoy walk and talk videos. Somedays you don't feel like talking silent videos do well too. Miami is full of very nice looking visuals and eye candy. This video is great by the way. There was a point in my life when I was between homes I stayed at the Hostel down here for about 4 months before I went back to Connecticut when I found a place to live. I want to return one day an live around here. The story of a homeless artist buying a home would be a nice way to retire.

I would watch a part 2 if you put one together. It does feel like I'm taking a stroll with you, like a tour. My husband and I are torn between Fort Lauderdale, Dania Beach, Hollywood, and Miami. We have a year to make a decision. I love how animal friendly Miami seems to be, there seems to be a lot of good sidewalks for strolling, which Hollywood does not have and a lot of vegan restaurants which makes me happy for a vegan or plant-based lifestyle. And I love the amount of dog parks. My question is would you by any chance know of any neighborhoods that might be a little bit more affordable that don't look like complete crap LOL
@MichaelBordenaro4 жыл бұрын
Cool, thanks for letting me know. it is a tough choice to make. If it were me I would probably narrow it down to Miami and Ft Lauderdale. There are more affordable areas here in Miami Beach, particularly north beach where I live, and still has a lot of these same amenities for less$$

South of fifth street was the first area to be developed in 1913, 1914 by the Lummus brothers who were brothers and bankers of Miami who developed and built the first cottages and summer homes and sold to anyone who was white and law abiding. This is where many businesses and stores and hotels opened up when Miami Beach was incorporated in March of 1915 by 33 registered voters and JN Lummus was elected as the first mayor of the city. The old Miami Beach chamber of commerce was located on Alton Road and 5h street in 1912. Joe's Stone Crab opened in 1913 and it is still in operation. This area is now part of the Ocean Beach historic district and designated in 1995 by the city of Miami Beach.

There was bathing pavilions called Casinos which were places to swim and recreational activities were provided for both kids and adults in 1914 and 1915 and through the 1920s, 30s up until the late 1950s when they closed. They were not places for gambling so they call them Casinos back then and the most famous of them were Smith and Hardies Casinos and were located on the beach at Ocean Drive and on 3rd and 4th streets and they had wooden swimming pools and changing rooms and the entrance fee was 25 cents and to rent a swim suit was 5 cents. Both places also had lunch counters and sold food there as well. Both attractions were built out of wood and were rebuilt and expanded after the Killer Hurricane of September 18-19 of 1926.

Shot my house is already pushing a million and it’s right in Anaheim aka Anacrime by Disneyland in a not so good area full of gangs.

What happens in 100 years when it’s under water? Serious question here.. Will Real Estate $ decline at a certain point in Miami? It’s insane how there’s no one around, strange. I don’t think you should stay in Florida though, its very 1 dimensional.. Western US has much more to offer..OR get a boat and explore the KEYS! Being out on the water makes the whole Florida thing worth it.. Wish the waves were better though.. I’m rambling now

I'm not sure what will happen, by then I will probably be dead, so I am glad I get to enjoy it now while it still exists. The condo prices here have been going down due to high inventory.
